Hello,

Where is a place where we can lease GPU rigs for hashing (hashcat, hashtopus)?

Best regards,

hey there i've been reading alot of post and threads on this forum and i decide to join the community.
so here the story, i was asked from a friend to build a cracking rig, i dont really know what is budget but i guess its quiet high. now i have searched online for cards benchmarking (they are some cards that i did not found) and obiously Nvidia gtx 980 and titan x are leading.

so here are few of my question,
1. lets say i have a big big budget what would u recommand for a cracking rig, even cards for servers and not only for homes, like purely a computer-s/servers for cracking
2. i have looked around to see if their is any benchmark for AMD FirePro w9100 AMD FirePro S9170 (i know epixoip u hate amd but i am looking for the best of the best) but i've found nothing, any idea what could be the hash rate?
3,any idea if their is any card that is better than titan X from Nvidia? (i looked into telsa k80 but it had a really poor cracking rate)

4, lets say i had a budget to do a cluster what would i need for that? (interms of graphic cards,mobos,cpus,psu,etc..)

anyway thanks alot in advance.

I have recently acquired a Mac book from my step daughter that seems to have had a Firmware password set. Clearly Apple doesn't care. I have Created a usb to try to remove the password but it doesn't work. S i am left with tring to figure out what the password is. I have tried John the ripper and I was very unsuccessful. I know how to Open programs in Cmd but I dont know how to give them commands or even how this works. The mac wont boot from cd or usb and the Hdd has been erased. Please Help

Hello I am trying to use cudaHascat to crack my wpa when I run:

./cudaHashcat64.bin -m 2500 -a3 ../psk-01.hccap abcdABCD pause

I get:

I found a few pages in this forum; however, it seems all other problems are slightly different. I did however, follow this pages: https://hashcat.net/forum/thread-2121.html advice checking the following things:

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

At first I thought it was because of the size of the file 561,000 hashes so I reduced the amount 319 as in the tmp file above.  oclHashcat runs fine using the Hashcat Gui and is running the 561,000 hashes now but I cannot access the pot file with the --show command without it crashing on the command line.

Any ideas/help?

Help me identify this salted hash?

I got it from a MySQL5 database. I am a total novice as this stuff, so I need a bit of help

password: [40 character hash]
salt: [12 characters using letters and symbols like =|%$;]

I'm using cudahashcat and i thought the "MySQL4.1/MySQL5" would be the way to go, but aren't those hashes usually  unsalted?

I also tried to give the hash to onlinehashcrack.com and they were unable to crack it.

I was thinking it would be either: sha1($pass.$salt) sha1($salt.$pass), but I am unsure.

Thanks for the help

970 underperforming?

Hi all...

I've recently built a multi-purpose hash rig with a Asus Rampage V motherboard and four NVIDIA GTX 970 cards (https://www.asus.com/nz/Graphics-Cards/T...970OC4GD5/).  I am running the card at stock speed, not overclocked.

The benchmarks I've seen for the GTX 970, including one from epixoip, indicated I should see around 20000MH/s per card for NTLM.  I'm seeing nothing even close to that performance.  On straight brute force, the best I'm seeing is around 8200MH/s per card....this is at 99-100% Util, so the cards have work to do.  Dictionary and rules brings the performance down to between 1000 and 2000MH/s, again at 99-100% Util.

What are the most likely reasons I would see such a performance differential?  What, if anything, can I do to improve the performance?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

How about MSCHAP?

I'm new user of hashcat. This software is very excellent! I love it so much!
Does hashcat support MSCHAP? As is known to all, MSCHAP/MSCHAPv2 is widely used on the internet, such as PPTP VPN, etc.. I searched wiki for many times, but I cannot find MSCHAP support.
Is there any way to crack MSCHAP/MSCHAPv2 using hashcat?

If my question is not suitable in this part of the forum, I will delete it with my apology.

hi
i used rar2john to extract a rar file hash and i received this below hash
Code:
C:\file.rar:$rar3$*1*[HASH]*[HASH]*[HASH]*[HASH]*C:\file.rar*72
as you can see the file name is in the hash at the near to end!!!!
the cudahashcat does not accept this and says that no hash loaded!!!!
what should i do?

Rules based attack sha256

$

Hi i'm new with hashcat and i started studying how this program works a few days ago, i've read about the brute force attack and i would like to use it in combination with a rules based attack.
Let's say i've the sha256 hashes of some string that have this pattern: n-_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _  (12 alphanumeric values).
I know that this is a very long string to brute force considering that i have 62^12 combination.
I've noticed a very frequent pattern in the creation of this 12 values string and the pattern is this one:
- at least two number
- at least two vocal
- at least four capital letter
Using this three condition the number of combinations possible reduce drastically, how can i implement this condition in hashcat ?
Will the insertion of this condition reduce the hash/s rate ?
Let me know.
Valerio.

Error while running oclHashcat with ssh

Is there a fix for this error message?

Code:
Generating bitmap tables with 16 bits...Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyInvalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyInvalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key

ERROR: clGetDeviceIDs() -1

I tried running oclHashcat64.bin and got the above error message.  Is this related to X forwarding?

The way I have been correcting this is restarting my Linux machine, logging in, and then reconnecting via ssh.  It will run for a while, but sometimes I get random crashes and then can't restart oclHashcat due to the above error message.

It appears to be related to permissions on/to the X server.  If I delete ~/.Xauthority, then I will get a different error message.

Any troubleshooting steps are appreciated.

Thanks.

About the performance in the homepage of oclHashcat

I notice that, in the homepage of oclHashcat, there is the performance of some kind of GPUs. One of them is

"PC4: Ubuntu 14.04, 64 bit     Catalyst 14.9      8x AMD R9 290X     stock core clock     oclHashcat v1.35"

PC4 used 8x AMD R9 290X GPUs to crack passwords. Does one mother board support 8 GPUs? What is the model of the main board?
Or it uses "VirtualCL"? But as wiki says, "VCL is no longer recommended for oclHashcat clustering, and most likely will not work if you attempt to do it anyway".

I'm wondering how to realize 8 GPUs cracking passwords at the same time.

Possibile rule bug on CPU Hashcat v2.00

Hi guys, I want to use multiple rule files on Hashcat. From the wiki
"Instead of just giving one -r parameter and a file, you can now add as many -r's as you want. "

My command

hashcat -m 0 -a 0 -r appendyear.rule -r leetspeak.rule -r toggles1.rule hash.txt /root/wordlists/InsidePro.dic

Output

Initializing hashcat v2.00 with 1 threads and 32mb segment-size...

Added hashes from file hash.txt: 4 (1 salts)
Added rules from file toggles1.rule: 15

As you can see it adds rules only from the toggles1.rule, leaving out the other 2 rules I added.

cudaHashcat64 Salted SHA1, Unknown Salt

$

Hi all.  I'm new to the forum, only joined today and I'm just getting to grips with this application - so bear with please.  So far I've managed to crack quite a lot of the hashes that I've put through it, so I'm pretty blown away by how fast and how advanced this application actually is.

There is one hash however that no matter what I try, I can't crack and it's probably because I'm not attacking it correctly.  It's a salted SHA1 hash in the following format SHA1#9554XXXXX93086AXXXD7D7D5XXXXXE324E1F6XXXXXD482.  The last 3 bytes / six hex digits are the salt, but the plain salt is unknown to me.  It could be anything of any length and variety, so it's probably quite a long shot here anyway.

I already know the password, so I can include that in a dictionary as a test to ensure I'm doing things correctly.  At the moment, I'm thinking that I'll have to do some sort of hybrid attack to include the known password from a dictionary and try and brute the salt with various mask types / lengths?  I'm trying this as my various dictionary only -a 0 attacks of ($password.$salt) or vice versa have been unsuccessful.

My current attack looks like this.  I'm happy to keep trying various things until I can crack it, but obviously I just want to be sure that the things I'm trying are even correct and that I'm not just waisting my time completely.

cudaHashcat64.exe  -m 110 -a 6 \Hash.txt \Dictionary.lst \masks\rockyou-1-60.hcmask

My hash in Hash.txt is presented as 9554XXXXX93086AXXXD7D7D5XXXXXE324E1F6XXX:XXD482

My OCL / Cuda Hashcat version is 2.01.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance.

Limit on input-hashes?

Hi,
I have a hash list with ~12000 lines (NTLM hashes). When I try to process the list, I get following errors:

Code:
./cudaHashcat64.bin -a 0 -m 1000 /AUDITS/XXX/pwdump.txt /XXX/wordlist.txt
....

....
WARNING: Hashfile '/AUDITS/XXX/pwdump.txt' in line 11808 (): Line-length exception
WARNING: Hashfile '/AUDITS/XXX/pwdump.txt' in line 11809 (): Line-length exception
WARNING: Hashfile '/AUDITS/XXX/pwdump.txt' in line 11810 (): Line-length exception

If I  copy some lines from the list (e.g. the last 1000 lines) into another file, and use this new file as input, everything works fine.

Line format:
Code:
User:ID:LM-Hash:NTLM-Hash:::

The size of the input file is ~2MB. I use following OS and GPU:

Code:
3.16.0-57-generic #77~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 17 23:20:00 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GK106 [GeForce GTX 660] (rev a1)

Is there a way to process all 12000 hashes at once?

Thanks for your help in advance!

PCI Expansion Chassis - Experiences, anyone?

$

Anyone got experiences with multi-gpu setup and PCIe expansion chassis? e.g. from MAGMA http://magma.com/products/pcie-expansion...-16-smart/ ? Since the tyan high-end rackmount chassis is so expensive, the idea is to have a standard-server inside one rack-chassis and put multi-gpu's into the magma box. - The two boxes are then interconnected with one single pcie-expansion cable. This type of setup is common for sound studio processors, why not try this for cracking, and might be cheaper than TYAN FT77B7015 & co.

Alternatively, what about PICMG 1.3 / SHB Express based solution?

Does it matter?

Hey, does it matter if i have duplicated words in wordlists?
Would it do anything or just scan the hash twice with the same word?
