My laptop is ASUS ZX50JX4200 , which has dual graphics . is this possibly the reason that cause this problem ?

NVIDIA driver version is : 361.43

Any difference between the following two masks

Hi all,

I've been running a test against a WPA hash using the following two commands, which I thought in my head should crack the password in the exact same duration, but the second command it taking longer.

PASS: WSPYXABY

The following took 9 hours.
Code:
./cudaHashcat64.bin -m 2500  -a 3  /cracking/wireless/sky.hccap -1 W ?1?u?u?u?u?u?u?u

The below has been running for 13 hours and is still going.

Code:
./cudaHashcat64.bin -m 2500  -a 3  /cracking/wireless/sky.hccap -1 WEHICULFBSPGQMRXZVTNKYADOJ ?1?u?u?u?u?u?u?u

I might have wrongly assumed, but I thought the custom charset -1 should replace the first placeholder with the letters WEHICULFBSPGQMRXZVTNKYADOJ in the order listed ? Or am I missing something.

thanks

Recover xDsl Router TG788vn v2 Password

Hi all,
i hope that someone more skilled than me in cracking password could help me.

I have a TG788vn v2 xDsl Router,
this router store the password in this way:

add name=user password=_CYP2_0f08c71d768ab52da7d549b63ce5921d13e2e6a4e7a2b82b role=User hash2=86XXXXXXXXe3b204a22a1ff11ed32cc8 crypt=6hE5DKnJKEmeA

(masked hash2 but is the same user and password for all routers)

Now i know that the password for user: "user" is "user", yeah user: user password: user.

I have found this info for another router of the same manifacturer for the model TG784n v3:  md5("$user:Thomson Gateway:$password"), that, like i saw, store the password in the same way.

Now i don't need the password for the user: "user" (that i already know is user like i said), that is a low level user, but the one for the root access, stored in the same way.

I'm really a noob, i have tried to read some post here, and copied and tested some command line, without success, probably cause i'm doing something wrong.

As example i have tested "cudaHashcat64.exe -a 3 -m 0 --force -1 ?u?l?d "86d646fb27e3b204a22a1ff11ed32cc8" ?1?1?1?1 -o found.txt" to see if i found the password "user" of the user "user". Without success, so if the command don't work to check the password that i know, is useless to test with the other one, sob.

Creating hashes with hashcat

Does anyone know of a command switch or possibly log output that could be used to create hashes from a given word list and salt? I'm thinking the hash is being created to compare against a list so it should be possible to view that hash.

Hey, I used to use hashcat to decrypt md5 hashes however I stopped a few months ago (07-26-2015) and now I've forgotten what the commands were. I tried to google my issue however I couldn't find an exact answer or solution.

http://i.imgur.com/LrCTfq0.png

heres the error, my hashes looks like this:

2b7454af9eeb36e9c9925acc4c98e7d149xxxxxx

the lenght of the hashes are
Your string is 40 characters long.

so I guess I'm using wrong method? Aren't these md5?

made the last 6 chars xxxxxx as i think Its not allowed to put a hash here :S

cudaHashcat64.exe -a 0 -m 0 -o cracked.txt outfile-format=2 hashes.txt wordlist.txt

Hey guys. Working on a distributed wrapper for ocl/cudahashcat. I'd like to be able to post progress to the C2 server while running tasks. Is there any way to get the current index in the keyspace? Progress looks to use a different number so I seem to be left with estimating based on how long it's been executing. Suggestions?

cuModuleLoad() 200

Hi guys,

I've been trying out hashcat and cudaHashcat for research purposes. The former works okay, though rather slowly, but the latter one has been giving me headaches.

0. My laptop:
Windows 10
Intel i7-3610QM
Nvidia 650M

1. First, the cudaHashcat caused BSOD whenever I ran it, with the error KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE. I read on the Nvidia forums that this is due to a bug in the latest 361 drivers, so I downgraded to 359.06, as suggested there.

2. Now it runs, but throws me a cuModuleLoad() 200 error (?) every time I want to do something with it. For example, benchmarking:

Code:
C:\cudaHashcat-2.01>cudaHashcat64.exe -b
cudaHashcat v2.01 starting in benchmark-mode...

Device #1: GeForce GT 650M, 2048MB, 950Mhz, 2MCU

ERROR: cuModuleLoad() 200

or trying to break a test hash:

Code:
C:\cudaHashcat-2.01>cudaHashcat64.exe -m 2500 -a3 test.hccap ?d?d?d?d?d?d?d?d
cudaHashcat v2.01 starting...

Combinator Attack problems with OCLHC2.01

$

I read the write-ups about the combinator attack in both the OCLhashcat wiki and the FAQ and am having difficulty getting it to work.  I'm working with a pdf hash and can get both dictionarys to work however when I try to us the -j and -k commands it fails.
The command line is I use is:  HC64.exe -m 10500 -a 1 hash.txt  lwd.txt rwd.txt.  When I enter the command as shown (with the proper hash name) it works fine, however I want to prepend numbers to the first dictionary and append to the second dictionary (as described in the wiki).  I've saw the syntax for the toggle command (T0) in the FAQ and applied it as shown and it works properly, however when I enter a -j$xx or -k$xx it tells me that the lwd.txt file is empty.     Where / how do these two commands go in the command line indicated above to make this work?  I am a newbie however I read as much as I could find on the combinator attack.  I know I'll get blasted by the experts out there, but I ask very few questions and try to read as much as possible before asking. (BTW the HC64.exe is just the .exe file renamed so as to type less in the command line.)

Hey guys, greetings from germany
i got a problem.
my laptop has a Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M.

i followed several tutorials

http://www.yourownlinux.com/2015/04/how-...linux.html

and

http://de.docs.kali.org/general-use-de/i...-fuer-kali

However..i stuck if want to boot after i entered commands of the second tutorial  i cannot login even more.

Is it possible that my virtual machine somehow dont use the GTX950 ???

i have snapshot to set it back to the status after i downloaded the nvidia-linuxdriver64bit.run.

how should i proceed ? I dont get it, maybe i dont see forest full of trees.

EDIT:

i also added a blacklist gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

# Necessary to install nvidia drivers
blacklist nouveau
blacklist lbm-nouveau
blacklist nvidia-173
blacklist nvidia-96
blacklist nvidia-current
blacklist nvidia-173-updates
blacklist nvidia-96-updates
alias nvidia nvidia_current_updates
alias nouveau off
alias lbm-nouveau off
options nouveau modeset=0

I followed these stops until now:

apt-get remove --purge nvidia*

sudo apt-get remove --purge bumblebee* <----- ( bumblebee ? this was for ubuntu what should i write here? )

sudo apt-get --purge remove xserver-xorg-video-nouveau

sudo apt-get install linux-source && sudo apt-get install linux-headers-$(uname -r)

gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

blacklist nvidia-96
blacklist nvidia-current
blacklist nvidia-173-updates
blacklist nvidia-96-updates
alias nvidia nvidia_current_updates
alias nouveau off
alias lbm-nouveau off
options nouveau modeset=0

What should i do now?

sudo apt-get install nvidia-XXX-updates nvidia-settings

for xxx i entered 346.59, but it didnt work, also only 346 didnt work.

i dont get it :/.

VLIW on NVidia Cuda

Hello!

Firstly, I want to express my gratitude for open the source code of the program. It was done a great job.

Now I am trying to understand how it is works. And now I am stuck, can you explain me about this code in NVidia Cuda version:
Code:
#ifdef IS_NV
#ifdef sm_10
#define VLIW1
....................
#elif sm_21
#define VLIW2...

And
Code:
class u32x
{
 private:
 public:

 u32 x;
 u32 y;
 u32 z;
 u32 w;
....................
}
And other.

This looks like a Intel SIMD instructions, or VLIW, but I cant find any information about it on NVidia Cuda.

I would be very grateful if you could point me to answer! Thank you!

An idea for using CPU hash cracking with hashtopus

$

Hey, curly - big fan of hashtopus.  IIRC, there are quite a few forum members that would love to be able to use this tool with CPU hashcat. You also were interested in the idea, but the lack of certain features in the CPU version that were in the GPU version was a deal breaker. In my internet searching, I stumbled across a tool called gpuocelot (http://gpuocelot.gatech.edu/). Essentially, it allows applications based on CUDA or OpenCL to work on CPU architecture as one of its functions.  Could something like this be used to translate the GPU instruction to CPU instructions?  I know I know there would be a performance trade off, so it would probably be a temporary solution, rather than a permanent one.  Maybe long term a more permanent solution could be developed - like adding those missing features to hashcat.  But at the moment, I have many computers sitting idle at work that could be used for something like this through hashtopus, however - no gpus.  The 2-3 computers that do are not mine, but colleagues'.

What are your thoughts?

Tom

EDIT: Also, I might add: I'm a big fan of all the work that's done here.  Thanks atom, epixoip, and all the others I didn't mention.
Also, edited for clarity and added link.

Regarding rli2.exe

$

It seems that rli2.exe only compares the 'bigger' file against the smaller one. Meaning that we can't find unique lines in a rather small file comparing to an existing very big file.

A rather ugly solution would be to :
1.merge both files to one file
2.sort the merged file unique
3.sort the original big file
3.compare merged file against the big file using rli2.exe

My question : Is there a more elegant option to get the unique difference  from a file.

Tried awk, but was short in memory (strerror).

Thank you for helping out here

Here. The output syntax is different to the example provided for the 1500 code used in oclHashcat. Is this variant supported in oclHashcat or any other program?

preppend number to dictionary

$

Hello I have a problem prepending a number to a dictionary.

my rule is: ^1^2^3^4^5

I have made a test hash for 12345test and using a dictionary with only test in it
but it won't work...
I've tested it with only ^1 and 1test and it worked but any number more than that and it won't work.
I can only use CPU so oclhashcat and hybrid attack isn't an option...

I'm using Kali 2 and hashcat v2.00
the comand line comand im using is: ./hashcat-cli64.bin -m 0 -r a5.rule -n 4 -o out.txt test.md5 testwordlist.txt

How would I go about cracking this salted sha-1 hash?

$

0
I got it from a MySQL5 database.

Code:
+----+------------------------------------------+--------------+------+----------+
| id | password                                 | salt         | site | username |
+----+------------------------------------------+--------------+------+----------+
| 1  | <removed by philsmd> | <salt removed too by philsmd> | 1    | admin    |
+----+------------------------------------------+--------------+------+----------+

I thought it was a MySQL4.1/MySQL5 hash, but aren't those usually unsalted?

I tried submitting it to onlinehashcrack.com but they couldn't find anything, which is weird because the password shouldn't be a complex pass.

Thanks

Hello gentlemen,

I've been reading this forum for about 5 minutes and I know I am out of my depth, but surely you are more than smart enough to answer my dummy questions, if you geniuses would be kind enough to indulge me.

Here is my situation:

I have an 8GB SanDisk Cruzer Blade flash drive with SanDisk Secure Access V2, with which I having a password problem.

The password is about 20 characters long, and it uses special characters.  I wrote down the password very carefully, but I didn't lose it.  I still have it.  But it doesn't work.  I have tried about 30 different combinations... caps lock, etc.

Needless to say, this is weird because I had to enter the password TWICE in order for Secure Access to accept it.

I can see what I think are the encrypted files {aaaaaaaa-bbbb-cccc-eeee-ffffffffffff}.dat in a Vault folder.

Questions:

1)  Given that I know all of the characters of the password, and it's likely just one character off, does that change my plan of attack in breaking it?

2)  I think the Secure Access program will accept 5 or 6 attempts before (it shuts down?)  Does that matter?

3)  Am I totally screwed?

I can already feel the veterans on this forum wanting to back hand me for sounding so stupid, but I'd rather endure the beating than take advice from someone dumber than me, which I (surprisingly to you) find to be very common.

I would remind you all that the greatest challenge of understanding something complicated is to explain it to someone who doesn't.  Only some people are able to do it successfully.

If you could send me to the children's table for a solution, or even just point me in the right direction, I would be most deeply grateful.

Thank you very much, gentlemen.

Mike
