Hi,

What kind of launch options / mask would I need to use with to use with hashcat if I wanted to crack a md5 hash that was just a floating point value from 0 - 1 to 16 decimal places like these examples:

0.9643639281918222
0.4074828438810318

I appreciate any help,

Thanks.

Identifying Hash type

Hello,

I have got these hashes, but I don't know the type of them. They might be all the same type and 32 characters long. Contains only my data but scrambled because of the forum rules.

Code:
xdMQI4XcPHGQ6E20DqN9fE415IvMD3hg
eV0VVHZw2Uqz4fPz5IbpijTyRios9q87
ECa95ciVfta5d6pTT8wpoWZ3pXn9Qp1d

The usage of this hash is like: /example.php?eg=<Hash goes here>
I tried to identify them in many ways, but no luck.
Do you have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Combine User:hash:salt with Hash:salt:passwords

For some weird reason hashcat didnt allow the --username command on my
ipb+mybb (2811) . he just ignored them all so i removed the users
and went straight to decryption method.
now the issue is i have no idea how to combine the result with the other username file
was trying online pairing but the salts are in the way
so im not sure what else i can do to pair

user:hashConfusedalt with hashConfusedalt:password
to be user:pass

just amazingly hard for me to find a way.

7 GPU set-up

Hello,

I am investigating a set-up for GPU password cracking.
The GPUs in Chassis B would be connected via riser USB3 cables.

Chassis A (rackmount):
GPU: R9 290X (x3)
CPU: i7-4790K
Case: Chenbro RM41300-FS81
PSU: Lepa G1600-MA
Mobo: MSI Z97 GAMING 5

Chassis B (rackmount):
GPU: R9 290X (x4)
Case: Chenbro RM41300-FS81
PSU: Lepa G1600-MA

(+ cooling, + RAM, + risers, ..)

Is the motherboard fit for this? Would the CPU be able to support the 7 GPUs? Is it possible to go beyond 7 GPUs (by using splitters)?
Is there anything else that I'm missing that could cause problems?

I'm trying to go for the most cost-effective solution, alternatives are most welcome! Smile

Many thanks,
Cedric

Is this suitable?

WPA2 Bruteforce.

Hi Guys,

I am trying to brute-force my WPA 8 Char password, after successfully capturing the handshake and transferring it to a hccp file, I went on to calculate the time it would take to brute-force an 8 char alpha lower case password from (a-z)  using my GPU @ 80,000 H/s, which came up to 30 days and 5 hours which is a long time. Later on I found out that the default passwords for my type of routers have the letter (i) and (o) omitted so that narrowed it down to 24 chars powered by 8 which comes to 110 billion possible combinations. And when I started it up on oclhashcat it went dramatically down to 15 days. I still think 15 days to crack a default password is a bit long and I want to narrow it down even more. I kept on researching and found that the default password on my router doesn't have 3 consecutive letters for example  "aaa"bcced. "a" being the repetitive letter, so the question is whats the command on oclhashcat to be able to narrow it down even more. And please provide examples as I am new to this. I am so determined to crack my password I don't know why. but I enjoy doing things like that.

Thanks,

Zardozx

AMD R9 M370X

Hello, I am new to the forums but fairly experience with oclHashcat. I recently purchased a 2015 Retina MacBook Pro with the dedicated graphics card, the AMD R9 M370X. With the default Bootcamp drivers, I can reach about 30,000h/s, but I expected a lot more and I also get this error:
Code:
ATTENTION! The installed GPU driver in your system is known to be broken!

It will pass over cracked hashes and does not report them as cracked!

You are STRONGLY encouraged not to use it!

Using --force gets me the 30,000h/s i mentioned before, but I was definitely expecting much higher.

I tried uninstalling the Bootcamp drivers but soon realized that Catalyst 14.9 doesn't appear to support this GPU. I tried it anyways but it was a no go.

I hope I provided enough, I can definitely give more details if needed. I guess I'm asking either 1: How can I fix this? or 2: Can we get support for this GPU since they are in all the 2015 Retina MacBook Pros with dedicated graphics?

I was looking through the wiki and I couldn't find this hash algoithm specifically. Could you please enlighten me whether hashcat/oclhashcat is capable of working this algorithm?

If not, do you know another software that can?

Thanks,

save calculated hashes or check against partial hash

hello guys,

Is there any way to save hashes calculated with oclhashcat? I found a thread from 2013, which tells me it's not possible. Did something changed since then? If not, can I somehow find all strings corresponding to my partial hash?

my problem:
I have the first 10 digits of a hash. The original string is double hashed to generate the corresponding hash, from which I only have the 10 first digits. I know there are about 4 billion possible unique variations from the original string. Now I need to try them all within a reasonable time and decided to use oclhashcat to do so. Is oclhashcat capable of solving my problem?

Yes a lot of questions, sorry for this and I hope someone have a solution for me Big Grin

//edit: it's using md5 for hashing

Office 2013

Is it possible to crack an Office 2013 hash with Hashcat (not oclHashcat).  I found this link that gives good instructions for oclHashcat - http://pentestcorner.com/cracking-micros...h-hashcat/ - but I am running from a laptop with an Intel graphics card so I do not think I can use oclHashcat.

I have already retrieved that hash from the file I just need to crack it.

Hi everybody, I'm new to the community. I know there has been a lot of talk of AMD putting together shit hardware and calling it gold, but has anyone done a benchmark test using the R9 Fury or Fury X? I'm planning on building a rig using 980Tis, but wanted to know how they compared to the Fury/Fury X since they are in the same price range.

Thanks for your help.
