Hi,

I would like to crack a hash and I prefer to rent a dedicated server with GPUs.
Could you recommend providers with such servers?

Thanks!

Incrementing Brute Force Attack?

$

Hello!

I'm fairly a newb to oclHashcat and recently purchased a NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970 for gaming and cracking hashes. I just have a few questions before using cudaHashcat for password recoveries and such.

1. Is the GTX 970 (ZOTAC AMP! Omega) a good GPU for cracking hashes?

2. How would I go about using an incrementing brute force attack on IPB 2+ hashes? What I mean when I say this is to start use a mask or some sort for both lowercase and uppercase letters and numbers without having to manually change the mask or any options once the other is completed. Example:
a
b
...
z
0
1
...
aa
ab

But here's the catch. I need to start at 3 characters and increment to 32. Would using Hashkiller.co.uk's HashcatGUI help? What would the options be set to?

Thanks! Happy New Year!

GLIBC Linking on Hashcat v0.48 vs v0.47?

Seems I am getting the error messages again when trying to use the latest version. I am on Debian and would prefer to not try and break my system to get things updated and working with the newer glibc if can be avoided (bad experience trying once before). Any chance you guys could work your linking magic again to remove this prequisite? I think you did this once before, hopefully you can do it again.

Current Error when running v0.48:
Code:
./hashcat-cli64.bin: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found (required by ./hashcat-cli64.bin)

Current Error when running v0.47, thanks to your wonderful time flags:
Code:
ERROR: this copy of hashcat is outdated. Get a more recent version.

Please help as current have no options other than potentially breaking my system to use your tools...

HOW-TO Extract Lines from File A that Contains Words in File B?

$

I have a large text file, over 1gb large containing data line by line. This is text file A.txt

I then have the second file, text file B.txt that contains 30,000 unique words that I want to extract from text file A, along with the rest of the line where the word is found in text file A.

An example of this is:

--Text File A--

dog in house
cat at school
kid in playground
tom at oaks
so much stuff
inhouse cool stuff

--Text File B--

house
oaks

--Result File Output--

dog in house
tom at oaks
inhouse cool stuff

How would I go about doing this that would work the fastest way possible? Is there any software on the market for purchase that specializes in this type of task?

I don't know any programming languages whatsoever so if anyone knows a solution that takes writing code I would need newbie instructions on how to carry it out.

I've searched for hours and hours on google in hopes to finding a solution to this but have come up with absolutely nothing meaningful.

Thanks in Advance

How to parse two seperate hash files in the same attack?

Is it possible to make Hashcat run through two separate hash files and output to two separate files in the same attack? Or would I have to compile them as one and sort it after?

I'm new to linux. I downloaded the latest oclHashcat version with the terminal ( apt-get install oclhashcat). When I open it, it said this:
./oclHashcat.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libOpenCL.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I reinstalled it (apt-get install --reinstal oclhashcat) and got the same.
Please help. Thanks!

290x 8gb issue

$

Hi,
I just got my 2 MSI r9 290x 8gb cards (NOT 4gb!).
Installed the latest drivers and fired up latest hashcat (oclHashcat64 1.31) when I got

Code:
oclHashcat v1.31 starting...

WARN: ADL_Overdrive6_FanSpeed_Get(): -1

Device #1: Hawaii, 8192MB, 1030Mhz, 44MCU
Device #2: Hawaii, 3072MB, 1030Mhz, 44MCU

STOP! Unsupported or incorrect installed GPU driver detected!

When i ran with --force I got
Code:
Speed.GPU.#1...:  8166.0 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#2...: 10698.3 MH/s
Speed.GPU.#*...: 18864.3 MH/s

and GPU.#2 got very hot and stays around 94c(which I believe is normal?) when GPU.#1 stays on ~65c.

I've searched on the forum and found that it shows "the amount of memory that is available for compute tasks" but this does not seem right..

Is this an issue with the 8gb model, or because the secondary card is running on the x4 pci-e slot?
Have I gotten a faulty card?

Using:
Catalyst 14.12 with driver 14.501.1003.0 (2014-11-20)

I hope I described my problem good enough, Im a bit new to all this!

Hey guys, I want to grab one more GPU soon.
So some guy on other hash cracking forum told me Radeon is better than Nvidia because it has more cores?

I have currently AMD Radeon R7 240 2gb ram 128bit

Now what should i grab next? Nvidia or Radeon ?

I mean which one is better really of them?

I'm going to use it only for hashcracking bruting actually.. What do you suggest me?
I'm looking for something up to 300$

etc

and all in one Capital, small, numbers up to 8.

Anyone need such wordlists? Or if you need anything else fell free to post below and i will send you over Smile

Maybe a BUG in oclHashcat 1.31 in WPA/WPA2 with Combinstion

$

I have updated from 1.21 to 1.31, and I may find a BUG.

I'm using win7 x64 with CCC 14.9 and oclHashcat 1.31.

When hash type is WPA/WPA2, using Combination in 1.21 with 2 normal dics, it works fine in 1.21. When I update to 1.31, I found some trouble, the output goes like this:

Code:
Session.Name...: all
Status.........: Exhausted
Input.Base.....: File (D:\1.txt)
Input.Mod......: File (D:\2.txt)
Hash.Target....: TP-LINK_XXXXXX (XXXX <-> XXXX)
Hash.Type......: WPA/WPA2
Time.Started...: 0 secs
Time.Estimated.: 0 secs
Speed.GPU.#1...:        0 H/s
Recovered......: 0/1 (0.00%) Digests, 0/1 (0.00%) Salts
Progress.......: 8870000/8870000 (100.00%)
Skipped........: 0/8870000 (0.00%)
Rejected.......: 8870000/8870000 (100.00%)
HWMon.GPU.#1...: 62% Util, 36c Temp, 20% Fan

It means ocl Rejected all the word. But it's all works fine in 1.21. So i did a little dig.

When the frist dic goes like this:
Code:
123456
1234567

and second dic goes like this:
Code:
11111
22222

The output show:
Code:
Progress.......: 4/4 (100.00%)
Skipped........: 0/4 (0.00%)
Rejected.......: 4/4 (100.00%)

That's means ocl reject all the words, but two dics combine is so right:
Code:
12345611111
12345622222
123456711111
123456722222
There is noting wrong with these word, Why these should be reject?

And when i change the frist dic into this:
Code:
123456
12345678
and the second dic do not change, output is:
Code:
Progress.......: 4/4 (100.00%)
Skipped........: 0/4 (0.00%)
Rejected.......: 2/4 (50.00%)

So, I think, using combination in WPA, the frist dic word must be more than 7 length.——which i do not think is right, I think the 2 words total length is the key to reject. Just like "hello"+"123", the total length is 8 and is legal for WPA password, and 1.31 think "hello" length is 5(5<8) and all the combine start with "hello" is wrong.

Just do a little dig. Maybe is a bug, maybe i am wrong...

GPU Choices ?

$

Im building a new server for hash cracking, iv done a fair amount of searches to decide which GPU is better, many have said the GTX980 owns them all, but i see in numbers the R9 290X has more to offer, lets say regardless of the power consumption, which is really better , in terms of price compared to hash/second , with the choice of multiple cards ..
thanks for everyone in advance Smile

Help with speed question

$

I am using CPU Hashcat v0.48 and there are a few queries i would like to raise.

I have been searching online but didnt really understand the explanations.

Input.Mode: Dict (wordlist.txt)
Index.....: 1/3 (segment), 1014124 (words), 6787879 (bytes)
Recovered.: 3/2500 hashes, 0/1 salts
Speed/sec.: 64.76M plains, 847.65k words
Progress..: 101/101 (100.00%)
Running...: --:--:--:12
Estimated.: --:--:--:--

Can i understand what does plains and words means?

64.76M == 64.76 million hashes generated or compared to the list per second

How about the 847.65k words

Help to recover password from an unknown hash type

Hi All,

Is this possible to crack if I only have the $encrypted_password / hash? How should I go about doing this. Any help or point me to the right direction is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Code:
// validate password function
function validatePassword(
    $username, /* username string */
$cleartext_password, /* clear text password that's supplied by user */
$encrypted_password /* encrypted password that's stored in the database */
    ) {

// build a key based on supplied username and clear text password
    $key = trim($username).trim($cleartext_password);

// decrypt the encrypted password based on the above key
    $decrypted_password = decrypt($encrypted_password, $key, 'twofish', 'cfb');

// if both string matches, password is correct
    if ($decrypted_password == $cleartext_password) return true;

// if both string does not match, password is wrong
    return false;
}

Best regards,
Azren[/php]
