Hi,
I´m doing geocaching.
now i have a cache where the coordinates are encryptet in plain MD5

i know that the coordinates are in this format:
N.xx.yy.zzz
E.aa.bb.ccc

The Upper case Letters are given and the dots are given,
so i neet a rule or something that usses the given characters and counts the lowercase letters numeric

i´m using hashcat GUI

hope you understand what i´m thinking of....

Hi,

I was wondering why, apart from bad press, it is a problem if a large website like Linkedin has got millions of passwords hacked, because after all, the user id's that link to the password are not known.

So I'd say: big deal if my password is among the millions being hacked, when you do not know my user id that goes along with it?

What are your thoughts on this?

I am trying to run a mask attack against my router with a test password the following is the syntax I am using -

oclHashcat64.exe -m 2500 -a 3 -1 z -2 abrtxxwz Deepspace.hccap -i --session=Deepspace ?1?2?2?2?2?2?2?2

Where z is the start of the password and abrtxxwz (not in the correct order) is the rest.

oclHashcat will not find the password, what am I doing wrong?

Hello,

I have hopefully a few quick easy questions.

Ok here it goes: how do i know whether the Hccap file actually contains the hashes? I cant open it in windows where i have hashcat installed.

Also,

Why does it seem hard to use Oclhaschcat because the binary file doesnt want to work the same as in hashcat? I appreciate any response.

Hey guys first of all I'm some what new to pentesting and only had a few good runs with aircrack and looking to speed things up. Im running bt5r3 dual boot Now my problem is cudahashcat gives me some error like

error while loading shared libraries: libcuda.so.1: can't not share object file: no such file or directory.

I'm not to sure if its missing or not. I have tired apt-get update/install I got 2 errors I don't remember what it was but didn't have anything with hashcat. Now, I have read some post and it seems people use hashcat with VM instead and there using different patches n what not for drivers. So pretty much would like to get started on hashcat on bt5. Thanks

By the way my system setup is
8core AMD 8320
1x gtx650ti(2gdr5) can anyone suggest a setup for less than $600? I luv cuss so no AMD here

hey, just registered because i cant submit a request using Trac.
It always rejects my submission because of spam (?!)

I know we should use Trace to submit requests but since i cant use it here is my request, maybe someone would be so kind to create a ticket:

Hello,

i wish to recover a Password of my truecrypt Containerfile and found hashcat with which i will do that. I read the wiki and tryed to start. But i have the Problem that i everytime get the hint
Usage: oclHashcat [options]... hash|hashfile|hccapfile [dictionary|mask|director
y]...

Try --help for more help.

oclhashcat64.exe --attack-mode=3 --hash-type=62XY Container.txt --custom-charset1=/charsets/Char1.hcchr --custom-charset2=/charsets/Char2.hcchr --custom-charset3=/charsets/Char3.hcchr ?1imalu?d?3?3?3?3?3?3?3?3?3?3?3 passwort.txt

This is what i type. Also i have changed the postions of the options with no other hint.
Container.txt is the Truecrypt-Container
Char1 - 3 hcchr contains the Characters wo can be in the Password
?1imalu?d?2?3?3?3?3?3?3?3?3?3?3 is the mask

Who is the failure in this line or have i an error in reasoning?

I need to have a russian alphabet in UTF-8 encoding.
For test I created a file "ru_utf8.hcchr" with two letter "CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER A" and "CYRILLIC CAPITAL LETTER BE". Hex content of file: D0 90 D0 91. Size of file: 4 bytes. It means that file is in UTF-8 encoding.
Then I calculated MD5 of this file and save it to "secret.md5". This MD5 is the same as MD5 of string in UTF-8 "АБ" (russian letters of cource).
And then I run hashcat (version 0.47) with follow command line:

I understand that the character codes "D0 90" and "D0 91" in .hcchr file combined in 3 bytes: "D0 90 91". But I need that 2 bytes were presented as 1 symbol in UTF-8 encoding. How I can do this?
Solution with the decomposition of characters into 2 bytes are not satisfied, because in this case, there are added a lot of non-existent characters and more extra bruteforce attempts.

I'm running a brute force attack, and oclHashCat shows me that the mask is:

?1?2?2?2?2?2?3?3

I'm trying to figure out what this means, exactly. ?1 is custom charset number one, and the same goes for ?2 and ?3. I haven't specified any custom charset. It seems that there's a default custom charset, although that sounds like an oxymoron. What are the default custom charsets?

I have just purchased a Sapphire Hd 7770 and installed it in my system to replace my ageing card.

I am running this -

for a wpa attack, the "i" and "o" have been removed as they are not used apparently.

My question.... I am only getting 20,000 k/s when using this, however, on another programme that I have tested I am getting 40,000 k/s, I would like to use hashcat as my preferred proggy. Is there something I have missed in the syntax that will enable me to utilise the full power of my card and hashcat?

I'm working on setting up a small VCL cluster. I have three machines: two compute nodes and one broker. I am using VCL 1.22, oclHashcat-plus 1.01, and Catalyst 13.12. I get everything set up,
