I have AMD Radeon 8670m with the latest Catalyst v.13.12. When I try to start oclHashCat 1.01, I get next message:

Is there any way to set-up Catalyst and oclHashCat to start cooperate?

Would hashcat add the ability to crack RSA or ECC with GPU?
I think probably cracking 1024 bit RSA or 160 bit ECC with multiple GPUs is acceptable now.

Greetings,

So I was wondering what is really behind the older version of MySQL's hashing algorithm - MySQL 4.1.0? As of MySQL 4.1.1 it's clear that it is sha1(unhex(sha1($pass))) producing a 41-byte string but what about the one that produces a 16-byte string?

Also, why does it have multiple possible plaintext values?

Hope this hasn't been discussed before since I didn't bother to check.

I am new to HashCat, I have a hash that I am trying to crack, and two questions I hope you can answer. It is a Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion hash, extracted directly from the ShadowHashData .plist for that user. Click here if you don't know what I am talking about; that is a link to the process that lets you extract the hash. Now for question 1. Do I need to edit the string in any way before I put it into a text file for HashCat to work on (is the plain text file necessary?). If so, what should be changed?

Here is information about the password that the hash is protecting. It is twelve characters long, there is only one character that requires the shift key (uppercase letter or symbol), and it is the 11th character. Here is a visual if you didn't understand my verbal description.

Modify Session files to resume at choosen point

Hey everybody,

My first attempt with this tool made me playing around a little and then I (actually, my GPU, hehe) spend days working my dict-files .. but I screwed up the session file. All I know is that I was at 87% after those 3 days. I didn't want to start all over again, I wanted to continue at those 87%.

That's how you do it.
Open the session file in an hex-editor, I use HxD. I don't know how to describe the location, sorry, please look at the screenshot to find the place. that is your current progress, even though in the wrong order Smile you have to kind of typing it backwards in your calculator. if you convert it to dec, it will show you the same like oclhash. so feel free to choose a different start number, convert it to hex, turn it around (A1 B2 C3 E4 = E4 C3 B2 A1) and replace the original number with that. Save.

I have already ran the time-out patch.

Hi , Im trying to crack my WPA password for security reasons , I tried the dictionary attack with the handshake i have and it works because i already know the password, its 10 Digits , my password is "5A7CD0B11F" . i tried the option -1 ABCD...789 but i didnt find any option to set the length.

please help me with the right command , im using OclHashcat.

Help with long salt

Hello, i have an hash that is:
md5(md5($salt).md5($pass)).
my problem is that the salt is 104 characters long, so Hashcat(win/ubuntu) and oclHashcat(win) with -m2811 complain for line length exception.
Now, since I know the salt I tought I could get the md5 of it and use mode 3710:
md5($salt.md5($pass))
But some tests with another generated hash indicates that hc doesn't recognize the hash so I won't be able to use mode 3710 instead of 2811.
I read in another post that max hash:salt length is 55 for hashcat so I wanted to use oclHashcat, but I can't use it on ubuntu 13.10 (catalysts won't work), I can't use a legacy version of catalysts (and I can't find a compatibility match with Xserver, ubuntu, catalyst and linux kernel altogether) and can't use a legacy version of oclHashcat (because of the self-imposed timeout that forces me to update version..how ironic) and on windows version the hash mode 3710 simply is not included.
Is there a way to crack this hash?

I'm a bit confused on getting started with writing the hashcat command for this.

I know I can set up the word list as follows:
[[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,0,1,1]]
[[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,0,1]]
[[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,0]]
etc.... (25 of them)

The hashes are sha256, which I can see is supported by hashcat (1400)

There is also a 16 character mixed case alphanumeric salt at the end of the string, preceded by a space. So an example would be:
[[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,1],[1,1,1,1,0]] IDdPP5cFTNiPAkXH

I've downloaded and extracted hashcat, made my word list, now I don't know what to do next...

Is there anything I need to set up for the salt of the hash? Like I had to set up the word list

Any advice will be greatly appreciated Smile

1) I'm new at this
2)I tried looking for help on forum but couldn't find specifically for my error
3) I'm using a dell vostro intel i5 win7 nvidia 310m
4) I found an article in sqlcentral about hashcat and downloaded oclHashcat-1.01 and installed ok.
5) followed instrctions on how to retrieve info needed and end-up with oclHashcat32.exe - System Error the program can;t start because OpenCl.dll is missing from your computer.
6) I looked for dll, can't find it anywhere..
7)where can I get a copy of the dll and how do install it?

hello, can someone tell me what are the best setting using gui? I mean about Accel , Loops and Devices, my setting now is off for Accel and Loops and All on Devices, i ask it cause normally the gpu is about 55/60 % and sometime also lower. I have win 7 and Asus

I am using the linux beta version of amd catalyst because it is the only one in which works with Kali Linux (Or it did...). Anyways, i run with --force option and it gives me this error here, all leading up to a seg fault.

If you need anymore information please post here and i will update the thread as soon as possible. I can't really figure this one out Sad.

(Also i used the workarounds me and philsmid came up with in order to install; just sym link the lib64 folder with lib in /usr/, download and install all those fun tools that are needed also the headers, and then just run the normal install).

How to prepend single word to each dictionary entry?

Hi,

I'd like to prepend "http://" to every entry in my dictionary file, how can I do this with normal hashcat? Seems like it is possible with the hybrid attack in ocl hashcat like this?

./oclHashcat64.bin -m 0 -a 1 hashes.txt ^h^t^t^p^:^/^/ dictionary.txt

But I can only use the normal hashcat and it doesn't work, I simply get "^h^t^t^p^:^/^/: No such file or directory".

Hi,

When I run a dictionary attack on some domain cached credential 2 hashes, it gives me the error," WARNING: Hashfile 'allhashes.hash' in line 3 (hash:username): Line-length exception. These hashes are not included in the total amount of hashes and salts. What does this mean and how can I fix the error to crack these hashes?
