Hi guys...

I primarily use this for WPA.. however today I decided to try my luck against the linkedin hash dump... ive tried several combinations of wordlists + rule files... most work.. However, certain combinations create the error "clenqueuecopybuffer ()30" right before hashcat actually starts cracking.. Was hoping someone could sine some light (atom?) as to what this means? Thanks...

Quick question-

I've noticed that if I run a salted ($1$salt$hash) md5crypt hash in mask attack, I only get full speed if I run it by itself, with the single-hash optimizer.

If I run it with another salted, or unsalted hash, I get half the speed- is this normal?

I read in a two-year-old post that Hashcat can identify doubles of letters. I have a very basic word list I'm toying with of just 4K words, each four letters. I have no hash to throw it at, but would like HC to see the list of valid words, and output a file of those words/attempts MINUS any words where any letter is repeated. "NODE" is written, "NOON" is not.

Also, my words are only separated by spaces. Can the separator character be defined going IN or do I need to replace spaces with carriage returns (I'm not sure how to do that)?

I am trying to recover a user's password on a fortigate using the mask command. But i doesn't work, it give me this error:

hello, i'm new about hashcat, i've downloaded and installed the last version, my pc is windows xp professional vers.2002 service pack3, videocard amd radeon hd7870 with catalyst 13.4. i'm new so i prefer to use the gui version (easier), but with an expert friend i've also used the dos, my problem is that, when i running hashes i get an ERROR: clGetPlatformlds<> -1001 I've also try Catalyst 13.1 but got same error, i've also had another error but i fixed i had opencl.dll error i've found in internet the dll, put it in system 32 folder then, run and in the dos windows type "regsvr32 OpenCL.DLL" then enter, after done this i don't get the opencl error, the opencl error was only using gui
Please someone has an idea to help me?

First off I apologize for creating this thread, but the one mentioning this topic (why closed source?) had been closed, and a very important aspect had not been discussed there. Transparency.. Nor was any real answer provided.

I have been using oclhashcat for a while, wrote a tutorial a while back even (which seems to have been spread far and wide). However I am rather concerned with the proprietary approach. After reading the original thread and it's responses, I am now even more concerned. http://hashcat.net/forum/thread-2699.html

Decisions are generally motivated by something, in this case its not money (everything is free regardless) nor does it seem to be advancing the project, otherwise it would have been open source from day one. A thousand minds are better than 3, even if 900 of them have gone full retard..

With the current information that has been provided, the only rational explanation is some sort of agenda, e.g its doing something you don't want users to know about.. (bum buddies with the NSA perhaps?)

Please feel free to clear this up, but keep in mind, source speaks a lot louder than words.

Hi,

When cracking with aircrack-ng, we can see the "Master Key", "Transient key" and "EAPOL HMAC" values. ( e.g. http://www.enterprisenetworkingplanet.co...k_fig5.png )

Is there a equivalent in oclhashcat to see this ?

Does oclHashcat support md5 of a unicode password that doesn't have a salt? I apologise if this is a stupid question but I've searched the forums for it and I can't see it covered anywhere. Our passwords are UTF-16 encoded before they are hashed and I'm desperate to get them cracked.

Maybe tell me, all the documents i need about Oclhashcat is in the internet. But it's my first time want to crack handshake.
And i think this is the best place to ask.

Ok, 3 weeks ago I captured WPA2 handshake. I've searched the Internet. And Best software proposed was oclhashcat.

My hardware are as follows:
CPU: i7
RAM:6 GB
GraphicL Nvidia 740m

Operating systems and software that I had installed:

Ive seen this question partially answered in a bruteforce thread regarding letters.. However... with a 10 digit number string I wanted to find out how hashcat mutates the number...

I am not sure how much better the 860M will be but can somebody with knowledge on the importance of memory bandwidth, shader units, texture mapping units etc. are on cracking hashes. Can anyone shed some light on the speed increase (%) between these two graphics cards (can't get a AMD card atm)?

im really new in hashcat when it comes to bruteforcing/mask attack .
all i know for now is straight attack method which is using wordlist .

i have so many hashes that i want to bruteforce but i really dont know how so i decided to practice it first .
in my case , i encrypted the word "Shan1" . and i will use it for my practice .
but i cant do it .
