Create a fast WORD->HASH lookup

Hi everyone!

I'm running hashcat to recover a password using a wordlist+rules. The speed is quite slow, and I would like to somehow save the results of hash-evaluation. I mean - for every hash that hashcat evaluates from every word( and rule) from the wordlist - I would like to save it to mysql. So that I get a table with 2 colunms in the end: WORD and HASH, which I can then index. 
So that for the future password recoveries I would simply run an indexed search on my table, and wouldn't have to reevaluate all the hashes from my wordlist.

Question - how can I configure hashcat so that it pipes ALL the hash evaluation results to mysql (or whereever)? Is there such a mechanism?

OK, so in 24 hours ive plunged down the rabbit hole. My girlfriend backed up her old phone with a password, traded it in, it got wiped, we got a new phone and now cant back up because we dont have the password. pics and texts from late relatives, etc. So, I watched a dozen hashcat instructional videos and tried to get everything to work without trying to learn a whole new language. I have a pc and a mac, i tried to do it on the pc using a perl script i found but couldnt get perl to work so tried on the mac and couldnt get hashcat to work no matter what i tried. I stayed up all night and spent all morning, I know you guys are gonna fry me for "not knowing how to use my os" but I'm posting in desperation. Now, I probably wouldve had less trouble if it was an older version because the best video on the subject takes you through ios 10 and lower, and only touches on 10+. and seeing as i have 11.2 i need the dpic and dpsl values too. However, when i even attempted i realized that my free choice in hex editors dont show values or bit length. So, to anyone with a heart, I'll attach my manifest.plist from google drive. I thank you in advance, go easy on me i tried to teach myself hex in a single night. lol

When stacking rules, do I need to include a : in each file to ensure that the wordlist is attempted unmodified or is including the : in one file enough?

Trying to run a hash against Hashcat

So... I have been messing around with Hashcat for a pretty long time but I'm still pretty new to it. I realized that when I try and run an hccapx file with the mode -m 2500 (Network File) against like a 3 GB word list file, Hashcat say that it will take around 6 to 9 days to finish the session. But, if I would run the same 3 GB word list file against just regular hashes it would only take Hashcat around 3 to 4 minutes to run the file against the hashes. This is when it all started for me, I wanted to learn how to extract the hashes out of my hccapx file and put them into a .txt file so that Hashcat would run my 3 GB word list SIGNIFICANTLY faster. FINALLY after weeks upon weeks of studying hashcat's -h options, I found a command called --left which inserts the hashes that have not been cracked yet into your output file. The hashes looked like this:

So after I got these hashes I took out where the Network Name was so that the hashes looked like this:

The first command I tried was something like this:
Hashcat -a 0 -m 2500 /root/Folder/hashes.txt -o /root/Folder/recoveredpasswordhere.txt

All it brought up was "invalid hccapx signutare" Also just for the recored I have tried all of these methods with hashes that looked like this:

Without the Semicolons (Just in case)

So after I figured that I couldn't run the network hashes with the mode 2500 anymore I tried many more approaches.

I tried running it with Hashcat thinking that they were Raw MD5 Hashes, Sha-1 Hashes, you name the Hash, I guarantee you I tried it. The next thing I tried was just typing in the whole hash with Semicolons into a hash identifier, everything said that it was an invalid hash or unknown hash type and so on, then i tried the same thing without the semicolons and it said MD5 so I tried running everything MD5 against it and nothing came up. Just keep in mind that I know what the wifi password is and I knew that the wifi password was in that 3 GB Wordlist. Anyway though Hashcat just kept saying that it was running the Wordlist against the hashes, it just kept on coming up with no result. So I then tried just running the first parts of the Semicolons,
So it went from this:

And hash identifiers said that it was an MD5 hash
So I did the same thing and came up with the same results. Can someone please help me resolve on how to crack this hash!

Hey everyone,

I tryin to decrypt my hashed password with

algorithm. In documentation and/or another pages not directly support it. Can you show me any way ?

Hi!
I'm trying to test-run hashcat on known MD5crypt hashes.
One has password 'instrument', other one 'hashcat' (took it from hashcat homepage so it should be good).
I see no error here. Please help Smile

Hey, I'm new to hashcat and Linux so sorry for newbie question. I'm trying to crack my Veracrypt boot volume because I've changed password in a hurry and it doesn't work, so I need 512 bytes of the last sector of the first track. But this:
dd if=/dev/sda1 of=/root/Pobrane/hash.txt bs=1 skip=31744 count=512
creates file that doesn't look like hash file from examples, actually it looks like empty.
Also, when I extract 1st 512 bytes from that disk, I get message "Disk error\FF Press any key to restart" inside my hash file. What do I do wrong?
I've attached both files.

I have used following syntax and got Line-length exception error.

Syntax used:

1. hashcat -a 0 -m 0 hash_pass rockyou.txt
2. hashcat -a 0 -m 30 hash_pass rockyou.txt

Error:

I know the salt.
I have a wordlist.
I have MD5 of above, i.e. md5($salt.$pass)

I am not sure, how to use hashcat to solve this challenge.

Question about --skip and --limit

I am running some -m 14000 -a 3 searches with multiple cyphertexts and same plaintext.
Recovered........: 0/3 (0.00%) Digests, 0/1 (0.00%) Salts

I've noticed that performance is slower when searching multiple cyphertexts and best performance is delivered when searching only one key. My question is:

As soon as I recover some of the keys, can I stop the search and continue from the last restore point (with --skip parameter), but now search only for one or two keys? So this comes down to, is the --skip value compatible when the number of cyphertexts changes? Reminding that plaintext is the same.

Hi all,

I'm new to hashcat and trying to learn how to use the tool.

I downloaded a file of hashes here: http://www.adeptus-mechanicus.com/codex/...shpass.php Specifically, I downlaoded the battielfield hashes file and saved it as bfield.hash.


Next, I downloaded a list of common passwords here: https://wiki.skullsecurity.org/index.php...=Passwords Specifically, it is phpbb.txt

Now, if i run the command:
./hashcat -m 0 bfield.hash phpbb.txt -o plain_wordlist_results.txt

Everything works great: I get the inverted MD5 hashes that I am able to with the ditionary phpbb.txt.

Where am I struggling, is cracking my own test examples. For instance, if I open my bfield.hash file in a simple text editor and literally copy and paste all the passwords into a new file, say, hashes.txt, and then run

./hashcat -m 0 hashes.txt phpbb.txt -o plain_wordlist_results.txt

I get a line length exception error.

So this must mean that the .hash file is formatted correctly while my custom file is not. What is happening?

Single 15 char NTLM Hash with known info

Trying to crack a single 15-length NTLM hash.  I know the following:
1 - special
1 - upper
13 - lower
no - digits
consists of 6 words (no spaces)
it's a phrase

Assume cracking rig has 2 GTX1080.

My first thought was to take the google-top-10000 list of short words located here (which is actually ONLY 2184 words)

Litecoin Wallet.dat passphrase lost

Hello Guys i remembered yesterday that i have a wallet with 10 litecoins somewhere on my dropbox account.So i installed the litecoin wallet program i managed to load the wallet but i have a big problem,the password isn't working. I remember what the passord is but it doesen't works. I am a newbie with this hashcat and i don't know exactly how can i set to brut force my password. I made a file with some posibilities versions of the password but they are wrong. If somewone could help i will apreciate and i will make a donation if it will work.

wallet.dat hash converted to compressed format

Good day, everyone.
I use a Hashcat to reсovery Bitcoin wallet.dat password.
Received from wallet.dat hash length of 369 characters (used bitcoin2john)
But  Hashcat does not support uncompressed bitcoin keypair from older Bitcoin Core wallet.
Only compressed format length of 303 characters.
Tell me please how to it can be converted to the compressed format to make it work.

crackingxkcd with a combinator attack and a sizeable dictionary [HELP]

So im working on a combinator attack. Looking at several examples i found that the maximum amount of dictionaries you are allowed to use is 2. to crack the xkcd standard, i need to be able to input 4 dictionaries (because i will be combining 4 words). I cannot afford  to make a pre combined wordlist (with all the possible combinations of 2 words into one list) because my wordlist has 370 K words. can someone please help me. Is this feature just not supported yet?

sorry to bother with my stupid Q, but after reading up and down for over an hour, on diff sites and forums, I allow myself to post it here --> thus, thanks a lot for your support on my Q.

I am trying to use hashcat on an iTunes backup (v10+).

Unfortunately, I get the following error, which brings hashcat to a sudden halt:
