Help with 7Z Hash

$

Hello, I am new to using hashcat so please forgive me if I am missing something stupid.

Anyway, I am trying to access a .7Z file to which I've forgotten the password. I'm pretty sure it's a combination of other various passwords I have used, so plan to add them all to a dictionary file and configure Hashcat to try every possible combmination of them.

However, before I get to that stage - I understand I need to obtain the hash from the .7Z file so have downloaded and used "7z2hashcat64-1.2" I then used the following command: "7z2hashcat64-1.2.exe file.7z >temphash" and a file was saved called "temphash"

I then run:

hashcat64.exe -a 3 -m 11600 temphash

It returns:

Hashfile 'temphash' on line 1
*hash text omitted*

No hashes loaded.

I then change the temphash file to unicode and resave, running the same command again, only to receive:

Hashfile 'temphash' on line 1 ( ■$): Signature unmatched
Hashfile 'temphash' on line 2 (): Line-length exception
No hashes loaded.

Does anyone have any input? Am I missing something?

Thanks!

ETH wallet - Salt-length exception

Hi there
I got few hashes which are the same version, but one of them is 2 numbers shorter and cannot be loaded

Hashfile 'wallet12.txt' on line 1 ($ethereum$s*262144*8*1*e2bef244cc8e48452c51e61356cb33f91e0a4887b52ab36b301754fbe11c4eea*056f7a344594249a6d639cfd951c49eb4a9a948addbb94a55fb590328c60c4*e1d1586d0b8f09a2fe73d5db5cd150f559c8237fa4440991b023263de687eb1f): Salt-length exception

Actually I compared this hash with few another hashes and the ciphertext is 2 numbers shorter

the above is the shorter version, tested with ethcracker and the hash has been accepted.

any idea how to resolve this issue.
thanks

Hash of a .pdf file

Hi everybody, I'm trying to find the password of a .pdf file.
So I use the python script to obtain the hash. This is an extract of the result :
Code:
$pdf$2*3*128*-3904*1*16*...*32*...

When I search what hash I need to enter for PDF, I've seen one which is pretty similar :
Quote:-m 10500 PDF 1.4 - 1.6 (Acrobat 5 - 8)
with this example on the wiki :
Code:
$pdf$2*3*128*-1028*1*16*da42ee15d4b3e08fe5b9ecea0e02ad0f*32*...*32*...

So I see that mine have 3904 instead of the 1028 on the example. What means this numbers ? Can I still use  the -m 10500 or it's useless and I need to use another hash method ?

Regards.

I was trying to figure out what below hash type it. Non of the hash identifiers could give me a clue, it also has a hash salt with it, but don't know in what format they both are being used. If anyone could help to identify is one?

This isn't real a used password and was only created for learning purpose.

Hello hash cracking comrades Smile
Looking to get a bit more info about a build I want to make. I want to make a hash cracking/ crypto mining rig.
The case will be open frame custom build and raisers will be used for maximum air flow etc. Thing is I want to put 10-12
ROG-STRIX-GTX1080TI-O11G-GAMING (https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ROG-...1G-GAMING/).
So my main concern is the motherboard! Would it be better to use 2-3 motherboards and connect them like a cluster or use something like this: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/news/news.php?S_ID=307
That baby has 12 GPU PCIE slots but the thing is that they are x1 and this is the part I am not sure of. I know that for mining this is OK but what about hash cracking? Would those PCIE slots be enough to get the full potential of those 1080Tis for hash cracking or I need x4 etc

Possible to do attack mode 6 and 7 on same attack

Should something like this work?

Code:
./hashcat -O -w3 -a6 dict.txt ?a?a?a?a -i --stdout | ./hashcat -O -w3 -m0 -a7 ?a?a -i 'hash'

Trying to accomplish having a dict.txt:
cat
dog
etc

And I want to add ?a?a to beginning and ?a?a?a?a to end of the wordlist

* Device #1: Intel's OpenCL runtime (GPU only) is currently broken.
We are waiting for updated OpenCL drivers from Intel.
You can use --force to override, but do not report related errors.

in both windows 7 x64 and ubuntu 17.0.4 X64 Sad

when i launch it with --force it's show in ubuntu :

Cracking ethereum wallet password

Hi,
I've been trying to recover my friend's ethereum password. As far as I know him I suspect it can't be very difficult password.

I've downloaded latest hashcat version which should support ethereum wallet (scrypt) password cracking (mode 15700).
I was trying to run it on gpus (6x radeon 580 mining rig) but it hangs the machine completely. I also read some articles about scrypt and it turns out that for n=262144 gpu cracking shouldn't work so I decided to try old-school cpu cracking.

I can see my cpu in hashcat:

Code:
 hashcat-4.0.1 ./hashcat64.bin -I
hashcat (v4.0.1) starting...

I'm trying to run cracking like that:

Code:
➜  hashcat-4.0.1 ./hashcat64.bin -m15700 "\$ethereum\$s*262144*8*1*1ebcc...bdd12f*4e065...5af0366*f86586319...8df" --status --status-timer=5 -w3 --opencl-platforms=3

but the app constantly prints:

I was also wondering if something's wrong with my computer that runs Fedora Core but the same happens on two different computers with Windows 10.

Another weird thing is benchmarking. I ran hashcat64.bin --benchmark and everything went fine but didn't benchmark mode 15700. I can see 15600 but 15700 is missing.

Code:
Hashmode: 15600 - Ethereum Wallet, PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256

Speed.Dev.#1.....:      124 H/s (53.49ms)

Here's part of wallet.json:

Am I doing something wrong ? Would appreciate any help.

Hi guys i have a strange problem.

I'm trying to use the soft for fist time and i'm trying to decript a bcrypt key.

after many attempts with a random hash i tryed to use my firs one dicctionary with my key, only for know if all works fine, or is my fault because i'm doing somethng wrong because is my fist time.

And surprise !! with my key works fine, no problem and decrypt the key, perfect...

Now i start to trywith other key and doesn't found....

Okay i try to launch the same command of before saved in a *.cmd file, ready for doble click and launch.

And now not works with the same word worked before, i tryed to clean the log file and the potfile, but did't works.

Is like i have any syntax problem, but is the same *.cmd worked the last time, and after try to write again and many tryes, i don't found the solution.

i thought is like a some log file in some place, but i tryed to copy a new clean zip file, , put my clean files (hash, dictionary, and outputfile) but does't works.

somebody can help me to try to solve this issue.

this is my sintaxis.
hashcat64.exe -m3200 -a1 -o cracked.txt hash.txt word.txt

and this the answer of hashcat.
Usage: hashcat64.exe [options]... hash|hashfile|hccapxfile [dictionary|mask|directory]...

Try --help for more help.

Thanks in advance for your time.

How do I do a mask attack on a binary string that is hashed with MD5?

So for example...

Legacy hardware won't cut it(HD 5970)

Hello there,
story time, based on these Benchmarks, i went on ebay like sites and found that the AMD HD 5970 had the best ratio for hash/s/dollar which was about 2300 hash/s/dollar (wpa2).

The problem: Hashcat just wont run on the GPU

What i have tried:
OS: Win7, Win8.1
Driver:Crimsom 15.12,16.2.1 Beta, Catalyst 15.7.1
(all the combinations of os and drivers from above)

On the latest and greatest driver 16.2.1, hashcat won run on the GPU, wont even acknowledge the existence of the GPU, it will just start to hash on the CPU.

Other versions will spew the "cl_platform_not_found_khr" error.

1.Does anybody have or know a stable and working combination of drivers and OSes for HD 5970?

2.(Better question) Should i ditch Windows for some real OS like some distro of unix?

Good day, everyone.
I use a Hashcat to reсovery Bitcoin wallet.dat password.
Received from wallet.dat hash length of 373 characters (used bitcoin2john)
But  Hashcat does not support uncompressed bitcoin keypair from older Bitcoin Core wallet.
Only compressed format length of 303 characters.
Tell me please how to it can be converted to the compressed format to make it work.

Using a list of 1500 common nouns, I need to try all combinations of exactly four nouns and their plurals (add s) to crack an MD5.

wordlist:

fruit
apple
pear
banana
turkey
tree
photo
plant

example passwords

fruitsapplepearbanana

turkeytreesphotoplant

no capitals, so spaces.

I've looked around, but can only figure out how to do combine two.

Any pointers?

It is possible with this tool ? thank you

Trying to understand RLI and RLI2 better

Been reading and doing a little testing with RLI and have the following that I'm trying to understand:

I have wordlist1:
word1
word2
word3
word4

And wordlist2:
camp1
word1
word2
word3
word5

When I run this command:
./rli wordlist1 wordlist-rli wordlist2

This is what's contained in wordlist-rli
word4

What I was hoping for is this (in no particular order):
camp1
word1
word2
word3
word4
word5

Long story short is I have wordlists that I would like to merge, but also make sure they are unique.. perhaps there's a better way than using RLI
