Question regarding benchmark output

$

Good evening everybody,

I am looking at some hashcat benchmarks and i noticed that at the crypt function (e.g. md5crypt) it outputs the following

Hashtype: md5crypt, MD5(Unix), FreeBSD MD5, Cisco-IOS MD5

Workload: 1000 loops, 32 accel

Does the workload which is measured in loops have to do with the gpu-loops paramter or it means that we have 1000 ieterations of MD5 algorithm (i.e. MD5(MD5 ..... MD5(string) 1000s MD5s)?

Thank  you very much

Combolist decrypt

I want to decrypt a user:hash combolist in a result of user:pass.
Basically i want to replace the found lines and remove the others.
Example:

Flexu88:[redacted]
to:
Flexu88:word
Or even Flexu88:[redacted]:word

Do we need to drop 32 bit binaries?

I'm talking about the binary distribution inside the .7z archives. I'm wondering if we can drop those binaries for 32 bit.

I'm trying to automate a script to automate creating cfg file for net gear routers but am unsure what algo is used to create the password hash

so i used the password password as a test and get the following hash

Code:
password

can any one point me in the right direction so i can generate these.

Apologies if i have posted in the wrong forum or an incorrect section if so can a mod please remove and any help would be grateful

GTX 1080 FE Temperature & Power Requirements

Hello,

I just bought 2 x GTX 1080 FE to replace my old 2 x R9 280X. I place the cards side by side and not having any spaces like I used to do when using my old R9 280X (I have 4 actually but can only use 2 because of heat issue). When testing cracking hashes using the 2 x GTX 1080 FE, the temperature goes up to 90 Celsius after more than 5 minutes and hashcat aborted.

What temperature should I expect for these 2 x GTX 1080 FE running hashcat? Im getting about max 85 to 87 Celsius doing the same thing with my old 2 x R9 280X cards (non reference) and with the casing side panel open.

Should I be getting the delta fans for this to help with the cooling and so that I can run with my casing side panel close?

I'm planning to get 2 more GTX 1080 FE to make it 4 in total. Will the 1200W PSU be sufficient? How to calculate the power requirement for this.

185 W per card x 4 is about 740 W.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Azren

Integrated AMD GPU with oclHashcat

Hello,
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but just bare with it as i have a different idea in mind.

from what i've understand from the wiki is that there are three versions of hashcat
1- hashcat for Intel/AMD CPUs
2- cudaHashcat for NVidia GPUs
3- oclHashcat for AMD GPUs

so cuda/oclHashcat works only with GPUs, now correct me if i'm wrong that oclHaschat works also with AMD integrated GPU (APU)? right? i mean i'm not talking here about performance and speed, just if i got the information correctly?

thanks in advanced.

Hi,
I was testing hashcat v3.0 beta and put "*.dic" to specify all my .dic, I had :

Quote:ERROR: D:\dics\*.dic: No such file or directory

hashcat v3.0 does not support glob anymore ?

Hey guys,

I'm going to build a new gaming/cracking rig. I was thinking about hybrid cooling on 1080 GPU ( for better overclock and no throttling). I saw some benches but they were mostly on gaming.

What do you guys think? Is it worth buying hybrid or nah?

EDIT//

My Planned Gaming/Cracking rig would be:

Case: NZXT S340
Case Custom Fans: Corsair Air Series SP140, červená led, 140mm, 2ks - Front Radiator
Case Custom Fans: Corsair Air Series AF120 Quiet Edition 120mm - back exhaust
Case Custom Fans: Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 140mm - top exhaust
Mobo: ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING - Intel Z170
CPU: i7 6700K
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X61
GPU: MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk
Ram: Kingston HyperX Savage Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000
Power: Be quiet! Pure Power 9 CM 600W
Storage #1: Samsung SSD 850 EVO - 500GB, Basic
Storage #2: WD Black - 2TB

v3.00 beta 63 SHA1 error

Seems the SHA1 module is broken.

Hashes that are almost identical except the first 2 chars both result in the same password recovered.

e.g.
02342XXXXXXXXe5f0077XXXXXXf81811fb8193:Hello!
03342XXXXXXXXe5f0077XXXXXXf81811fb8193:Hello!
04342XXXXXXXXe5f0077XXXXXXf81811fb8193:Hello!
05342XXXXXXXXe5f0077XXXXXXf81811fb8193:Hello!
...
69342XXXXXXXXe5f0077XXXXXXf81811fb8193:Hello!

Noticed in beta-59 (v3.00-beta-142-g9d2c24f) confirmed in beta-63 (v3.00-beta-148-g063abab), but may have existed before that.

Text manipulation with hashcat

So I have a list of hashes that are in ID:username:SHA1pass format.

I'd like my output list to be in username:plaintext format of all the ones that were able to be cracked. What is the best way of doing this with a dictionary file?

V3.00 showing wrong password

first of all hi , i've been reading quiet alot in the forum but never register but now that i have an issue its time to post ;D,

so here the thing
in cudahashcat on a 2.01 the password as been found with the following command
Code:
sudo ./cudaHashcat64.bin pro -a 3 -m 1500 --custom-charset1=?l?d?u --increment --increment-min=1 --increment-min=8 ?1?1?1?1?1?1?1?1
after cracking the hash lets say the password is 1001miaa i've try hashcat 3 to test it out.
since i already knew whats the password was so i changed the request to this

Quote: sudo ./hashcat64.bin --opencl-device-type 2 pro.txt -m 1500 -a 3 ?d?d?d?d?l?l?l?l

when i did saw instead of showing me 1001miaa it showed me 3001miaa, so i did another test, instead of ?d i put the char 1

Quote:sudo ./hashcat64.bin --opencl-device-type 2 pro.txt --custom-charset1=1 -m 1500 -a 3 ?1?d?d?d?l?l?l?l

the password on this one was 1312miaa

and another one
Quote:sudo ./hashcat64.bin --opencl-device-type 2 pro.txt --custom-charset1=124 -m 1500 -a 3 ?1?d?d?d?l?l?l?l
the pass was 1311miaa, anyway u get the point, the password was not recover, with V3.00.

perhaps i am doing somthing wrong but.. i dont see what.

Issues with using charset masks

$

Hi all, I'm having issues with Hashcat masks. Basically i'm running a WPA Virgin media keyspace using masks as they use lower case minus i & o and to run the 1st letter and then the other 7 spaces is another mask. The masks I set up are as follows - 1 abcdefghjklmnpqrstuvwxyz and the second mask is -2 and 1 of those individual letters from the 1st mask and use ?2?1?1?1?1?1?1?1 in the hashcat command. That in itself works fine to do 1 letter at a time but if I set it to do 2 or 3 letters at a time it doesn't work and sticks at only doing 4586471424 combinations instead of double or even triple! I've even set a timer for when the timer says and come back and it doesn't pick up the 2nd or even 3rd letter in line and stops so I have to set it manually letter by letter each time it runs out so if I wanted to go out for the day I can't leave it running reliably!
The following 2 pictures should explain what I mean and also give you the hashcat command i'm giving so any pointers to what i'm doing wrong would be appreciated. It used to work on the older versions of Hashcat i'm sure but since changing to Nvidia instead of AMD now things may be slightly different.

Linux Driver

Catalyst/FGLRX has been deprecated in Ubuntu 16.04 and replaced by the open source AMPGPU kernel driver + AMDGPU-PRO proprietary userspace blob so I'm wondering if oclHashcat is compatible. If not and Catalyst is still required, 15.12 was released in 2015 so I'm wondering if the new Polaris family starting with the RX 480 will be compatible.

Building Out / Efficiency

I've basically read through most of this Hardware forum, but I was wondering if we could talk about efficiency and scaling on larger systems.

Obviously there are a lot of parameters that could be maximized: Space, Performance, Hardware Cost, Temperature, Power Use, Reliability

Assuming physical space wasn't a premium, and Overall cost (both hardware and power use) per performance was the main consideration, what system designs are the most effective.

General things I have learned from reading past posts:

-with node computing, system design has shifted out rather than up

-power supplies are most effective at around 50% load

-power supplies get exponentially more expensive at a certain point

-3-4 GPU rigs seem to be relatively "easy" to put together with many motherboard / case options--not yet sure whether this makes it more cost effective

I know in the recent past it was a even harder than now to shove more than 3-4 GPUs in a system due to bigger power draws and thus higher temperatures.  This seems to have mitigated somewhat with GTX 1080 only consuming 180W.

Anyway, I am not planning any system in particular--I was just wondering how to hypothetical scale efficiently.  Any metrics advice or comments would be appreciated.

HashBruteStation release

Hello everybody. Today i released  one of my develops -
- Hash Brute Station v0.1a. It`s a web-panel for control "home" builded hashcracking server.

Necessity in HSB born in pen-tests process. Earlier PC with GPU placed at my home, but with time i understand what it not right. Work for GPU was more and more, and i understand what i need a GPU work 24/7. But, in this time, there is no so many work for build farm from many GPU.

After samples and tests it turned what 1 GPU working 24/7 - it`s what i need. I build new PC and put it on colocation to datacenter which get Tower-cases. For simplify controll process was created HBS.

hi every1,
i was wondering if any 1 knows if their is a tool that allow u to generate mask files? (or know how to make)

lets say i want to make a mask with 8 characters 2 ?l 4 ?d 2 ?u

?l?l?d?d?d?d?u?u
?u?l?l?d?d?d?d?u
?u?u?l?l?d?d?d?d
?d?u?u?l?l?d?d?d
etc..
u get the point..
writing  every singel combination manual take alot of time!

how i can find used algorithm

Hi,
I have a problem and did not know how to resolve it.
I have the encryption tool, so i can generate a file containing for example "secret".
I do not know the encryption algorithm.

How knowing the word "secret" and being sure of its existence in the file, find the algorithm (one of the standard one)
