Syntax question

$

I have a wordlist that i would like to use to recover a password with the following properties:

- 1 upper case
- 1 substitution
- ending with punctuation + digit

Ilustration of the password (the pictures in the first line): http://xkcd.com/936/

The wordlist only contains lower case words without digits or punctuation. I guess I would have to use a hybrid attack, but I am struggling with the syntax, as I am new to hashcat.

Thanks for your help.

OCLHashcat as Multi Hash Generator

$

If it is possible to generate different type of hashes for same plain text words and store it for cross-reference .ie. get the hashes ready for the target hash by using OCLHashcat. Then in spare time we can run the hash generator and at show time all we need to have is to find the hash in pre generated list.

Is there a way to do that ?

Several Questions about Hashcat

Hello,

First of all, thank you for creating this amazing program.
I've been enjoy it a lot!

Question 1:
Code:
cudaHashcat64.exe -m 0 --username --outfile-format=2 input.txt wordlist.txt
pause

As you can see, I'm running an input file and my wordlist to check for everything.
Now, I'm wondering how I should make Hashcat work with a combolist (email:hash). I'm using Windows.

I've tried searching the forum and came out with the --username & --outfile-format=2 also it said that I had to use --show, but where do I add this?

Question 2:
Can I adjust the maximum temperature before the "Watchdog" (I believe) sets in?

Question 3:
Could you give me some examples of your .bat files so I can learn from it?

Could you please answer these questions as simple as possible? Since I'm a noob.

Thank you for creating an awesome program.

Radeon HD3200? oclHashcat not Compatible?

I have an Biostar mobo with a built-in ATI Radeon HD3200. I'm using Windows 7 x64 with Service Pack 1 and .Net 4.5. I installed Catalyst 13.9 successfully. I first tried a more recent version 14.something, but it left the program files directory empty. i.e. No display driver was installed. When I tried to run oclHashcat64.exe, it gives me some error: clGetDeviceIDs() -1.

(1) Is my video compatible or not?
(2) Is there a work around/resolution aside from using a different video card?

Thanks!

Hybrid attack query

Hi

I running 4 x AMD r9 280, i7 3.7Ghz, windows 7 (couldn't get ubuntu to install with the UEFI board/bios)

I know the Passwords start with days of the week and end in numbers like years etc , so I created a dictionary to recover the easy DES hashes

Monday
Monda
Mond
Mon
Tuesday
Tuesda
.
.
.
Friday
Frida
etc etc

I also added lowercase starts for the days.

I then ran a hybrid attack -

oclhashcat64.exe -a 6 -m 1500 --remove --session=rob --gpu-temp-abort=95 --outfile-format=3 --outfile=recovered.txt e:\hashes f:\wordlist ?d

I ran the same command using ?d?d and ?d?d?d and ?d?d?d?d and finally ?d?d?d?d?d

It did recover some hashes.

Later I ran a brute force attack using the below after applying many more mask combinations and other dictionaries -

oclhashcat64.exe -a 3 -m 1500 -1 ?u?l -2 ?l?d --remove --session=rob --gpu-temp-abort=95 --outfile-format=3 --outfile=recovered.txt e:\hashes ?1?2?2?2?2?2?2

It then recovered passwords like Monday1, Fri2003 etc

I would have expected to have recovered these from the hybrid attack?

comments please

Hashcat bruteforcing with spezial rules

Hello,

I am a hashcat noob but I need some help. I forgot my Truecrypt Countainer Password and need to crack it now.
It has 37-41 Characters. The good news I know the last 20 Characters and the first 4 excatly. I know the 6th Position it's a "," or ".". And I know the 5th Position could be one letter or nothing, than the 6th Position would be the 6th Position.
I also know between 5/6 till 20/21th Position are two static phrases.
One is like that "HuW" and one is like that "84839", the rest is out of 6 Characters.

Example how it could look like:

!Ii!,HuW;,.H).84839..123456789+'+uHdbHDhE

or maybe:

!Ii!c.HuW;,HH).84839..123456789+'+uHdbHDhE

(don't worry I changed up here things, thats now how my password look like, but it's an example for configuration.)

I did some math and cam out that it can get cracked in less than a day with a Amd 290x.

I need now help to get the configuration right. Here is an example how it would look like in OTFBrutus.

!Ii![c]{0-1}[\.\,]{1}["HuW" \;\.\-\_\)\: "84839"]{6-10}123456789+'+uHdbHDhE
OTFBrutus said it would be 4908384256 combinations.
(4908384256 / 500000 / 60 / 60 = 2,72 h)

the password can only get cracked in a good time, if 84839 and HuW are threated like a static phrases "in way like a character (from the math side").

Thank you very much!

Truecrypt hash (volume not boot)

Hi,

I've a quick question I'm hoping somebody can help me with. I've a number of truecrypt containers I'd like to run some wordlist attacks against.

The first one I chose I ran a test using oclhashcat, the file, and the wordlist on the cli and it recovered the password after a few minutes. Result!!

However, I've been experimenting with Hashtopus (which really is good) and would like to be able to use it to crack these files. The problem with hashtopus (as I see it) is that you have to feed it hashes (or a file full of hashes) rather than actual files.

I played around with JohnTheRipper and used it truecrypt_volume2john function to extract the hash from the truecrypt file I already cracked. It was extracted in the format:

FILENAME:truecrypt_RIPEMD_160$VOULME_HASH:normal::::/PATH/FILENAME

I selected the VOLUME_HASH; ie all data between the dollar sign and the colon and placed it into a new text file. I then passed this to oclHashcat and it fired up and went about trying to crack it.

However, this time it exhausted all the possibilities in the dictionary and didn't find the password.

Does anybody have any ideas on what may be going on here please?

GPU Rig Problem

Hi,
i have built an 6x 5970 Rig under exactly this Tutorial http://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=linux_server_howto

But now im facing my biggest problem. Let Linux recognise all the GPUs.

It seems like there is a limit for 8 GPUs in total so 4 Cards. If im adding an extra card, the last one is neither found with clinfo (Memory error) nor can i fetch the infos with amdconfig --adapter=all --odgt (Cant get GPU Temp). I have 8 Cards in total and changed the last one 3 times so im sure its not a faulty card(98%)

I am using an ASRock H61 Pro BTC http://www.amazon.com/ASRock-H61-BTC-Mot...61+Pro+BTC

with an i3 inside.

So anyone could help me solving my problem ?
Thank you very much.

Bug with incremental and --restore?

Hello everyone,
I noticed everytime i stop ( Q ) and restore ( R ) my cudaHashcat, the new restored process start from another point, basically it skip x% of the entire process.

So i tryed a new session called X with the incremental attack (26 hours), started to stop and restore this session and the process finished in a snap
Now I wonder is a known bug or is it normal to be so? and I also wonder if there is a way to restore precisely from the point of the stop (a flag or something similar).

Thanks everyone and sorry for my english

Brute-force TrueCrypt non-system partition

Hi,

I've made a image from a TrueCrypt non-system partition with True Image.

I've made the following session:

oclHashcat64 -m 6211 -a 3 -n 32 l:\b.tib -1 '!' -2 ?d?l ?1?d?d?d?d?2?2?1 -o found.txt

If this wrong, is there another way to Brute-force a TrueCrypt non-system partition?

Thanks

Parameter to slow down the hashcat a bit (overheating probem)

Well my problem is that -w 2 goes too hard and -w 1 goes too soft

-w 2 produces 77 kh/s on my R9 270 but -w 1 produces just 28 kh, my question is what parameter could i use to tune it down arround 60 kh/s would work just fine.

I tried using retain temperature using --gpu-temp-retain=60 but it just doesnt work i cant see any throtle it just goes to 80 untill it aborts by overheating.

what other parameters would i use to reach this goal?

Thx in advance.

Is it a MD5 hash?

I have a set of input and output data.

Input: 1900
Output: 10339a1efa428511e44bccb4031ee11e

Input: 0
Output: 0151d34b712c525b812a3cd7ac58c9ec

Input: 1500
Output: 10b09226e0bd5b6e823be378b1ef6f33

The output is always 32 char long.

I guess the input value was hashed with MD5 with following piece of javascript code:
"encode","=FLK324956yhl%$==key=Fnwer295*(&*(&%214=gsidk=IAFhioqwr21402814;f=vm349","md5","jchecksum('","','","')",""]

Can anyone tell what actually it is doing, thanks a lot!

I'm trying to crack a WPA router from ATT. It is a 10 digit Numerical password.
I have the handshake, and converted to .hccap

Here is what I'm running:
Code:
c:\oclHashcat>cudehashcat64.exe -m 2500 -n 90 -a 3 hashcat.hccap ?d?d?d?d?d?d?d?d?d?d

It only gets to 175 kH/s

My card is the EVGA GTX 970 FTW + @ 1500Mhz

i'm looking a building a setup and my mind is set on the ASRock H81 Pro BTC Motherboard and using 6 pci 1x to 16x ribbon adapters

i have a small 450w power supply for the motherboard and two dell server power supply's in parallel with are capable of a constant 120amps on the 12v rail which I'll be using to power the cards

does anyone know how well this setup would perform? how many k/s cracking WPA2?
and with having this kind of setup would people be interested in renting time? curious to know Smile
