hi

we are having 3 servers with 24 gpus , each server has 8 gpus (they are amd)

now we want to use all of the 24gpus are the same time for brute-force attack , how can this be done? cause it seems the VCL doesnt work anymore

Hey, I've got question, is there any way to save cracked hashes with Usernames actually?

I use Username Ignore option but when i run it shows in found file only passwords not usernames?


About POT file.. example from my list i want to crack it says example found 3k hashes in POT file, but it doesnt move that found hashes actually in found folder it just removes them from cracking list? Any idea about it?

Hello. I have several kompyutrerov. In each set to 6 cards R9 280. They only work with 13.12 drivers. With 14.9 drivers 6 cards do not work. What version OclHashcat will work with the drivers 13.12?

computer crashes when running ocHashcat 1.31

Hi all! Smile

I am trying to run ochashcat on my brand new windows machine (Windows 7 64bit), after a minute or two ochashcat runs, the computer shuts down horrifically (completely shuts down, it doesn't even restarts!).
I installed all the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website, except the AMD Catalyst which is in version 14.9 (I had compatibility issues with ochashcat at the latest catalyst 14.12 version..)

First I suspected it was an insufficient power supply (I had a 1000W seasonic gold PSU) checking this website proved me right, so I quickly replaces the old 1000 Watts with a shiny new 1500 Watts Enermax. which has the exact same problem..

I though it might be an overheat problem, but the computer is in a conditioned room and the whole case is open for a better air flow. In addition, isn't it more reasonable defense mechanism to restart the computer instead of shutting it down so the fans will keep spinning?? or even more reasonable- the cards will down-clock themselves to a level they wont overheat??

Please help!

specs:

CPU: core i5 4460

Board: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK

RAM: 8GB

Graphics: dual AMD Radeon™ HD 7990 Graphics Card (total of 4 cores per 2 cards)

PSU: 1500W ENERMAX

Ok i'm trying to make a rule that will add prefix numbers 0000-9999 before a dictionary word and a suffix 0000-9999 after the same dictionary word

ex.: in the dictionary.txt there's only one word:
Birthday

with the rule i like to get:

0000Birthday9999
0001Birthday9998
0002Birthday9997

i did this with maskprocessor:

mp64.exe -1 0123456789 "^?1^?1^?1^?1$?1$?1$?1$?1" -o Prefix_and_Suffix_numbers_0-9999.rule

and it gave me this in a file

Noob issues with oclhashcat

Im running Windows 7 and trying to use oclhashcat on my nvidia gtx660. I am struggling to get any kind of response from hashcat tho, trying to bruteforce an hccap file and to output to found.txt but nothing happens.

W:\oclhashcat>hashcat64.exe -m 3 W:\oclhashcat\mongo.hccap W:\oclhascat\found.txt

I press enter, get the eula: yes/no, I type yes and nothing happens. Have spent most of the day on this, hard to find noob friendly step-by-step guides for hashcat.
I know Im screwing up, but how?

(what I really want to do is use a mask attack to pinpoint a 13 letter lower-case password, but Im not there yet)

Hello everyone,

I am trying to run oclHashcat as a subprocess in Python. I can start it up just fine, but I cannot pass the usual commands ([s]tatus, [q]uit, etc) by simply writing that character to STDIN.

I have been googling this for some time, found others that have had a similar issue, and can't view the source to figure it out myself, I would really appreciate any feedback you may have.

computer crashes when running ocHashcat 1.31

First of all hello for all members and sorry for my bad english.
In the last days i wold like to run oclhashcat 1.31 but after some times the process stopped to working. about after 20-30-40 mins.
The computers fans still spinning after process stopping , just the screen goes.And i must press everytime the reset switch on the front panel.
The graphic would be cold after the crash just the fans spinning.

i have a Intel Core2Extreme with 3x3Ghz on a Asus P5E with x38 chipset
Graphic card is a Ati Antilles Radeon 6990 with an Artic cooling Twin turbo
And a 780W psu.Win7 x64 with 8 gb ram ddr2 800 Mhz
When i play games or makestresstests or bernchmarking i vever seen more Temp on the gpu then 65-70 Celsius
And runs all sable.
But with oclhashcat after some time the screen goes and the process sopping to work.
The cooler had i since 3 days mounted. Before the card has 80-90-95 celsius too.Now it is cool i think.
Have anybody any suggestion what can the problem causes?

hi guys

as you know , each cpu has number of PCIe lanes

for the example , i7 4930k has 40 lanes

well , if we have 3 vga cards for example 3x r9 290x and if we want to run them as x16 , we need 3 * 16 lanes which is 48 lanes

as the result , we cant run all of the cards on x16 and we have less bandwidth for one of the cards

so the question is , does it affects oclhashcat performance?
i mean does oclhashcart use all of the bandwidth of pci express or even if we use x1 , it doesnt affect the performance atall

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to crack a md5 password. This password is salted with a key and is encrypted like this : md5($salt.$password).

I'm using this command to decode it :

in test.hash.txt i put :

The encoded password i'm trying to decode is "test".

"k8k8yBEO7bXXjjRH9BoKTojYIA1dNmHDaKiC3sfGRp8eNORfW3joAA3c" is a typical salt used in prestashop, it's always that long !

The problem i have is that when i press enter, i have this error :

Initializing hashcat v0.49 with 8 threads and 32mb segment-size...

I'm pretty sure i have this error because the salt is too long. But all prestashop salts are that long, is there a way to increase the acceptable size length so i can try to decode prestashop passwords

Currently I am running a mask attack using a mask file.
Looking at the output, it seems that the skipped and Restore.point values are referred to the current mask.
Since in a file there could be several masks, how can I tell oclHashcat to skip a specific amount of mask "rules"?

Hi,
in most cases i find my solutions all over the net till i have to ask any community. But this time i realy dont know how to go further.

My current problem is, i want to crack passwords with german Umlauts.

For example, lets crack "mörser" - "4eea89ef13ab9faab28b5dac9ce5b633"

I tried to use the de_ISO-8859-1-special.hcchr but it didnt work.

Ive read the manual lots of times and know there is the optin to set HEX chars.

So the missing ö would be 0xF6 but i can not combine al switches corretly.

So if andyone could help me , i would be very happy.

So im looking for :

6950 weaker than 5870

Hi there. Im reading this forum for like 2 years but just decided to register (since i was not able to figure out 16chars pass Big Grin Big Grin) and i've some questions to ask.

Q1: I've noticed something strange and want your opinion.

NTLM 5870 cracking at ~9700 on 875/1250
6950 though cracking like 9300 !

6950 is quite better in mining performance going like 480 MH/s on scrypt and 5870 420MH/s.

Should i consider 5870 as a better choice for cracking and 6950 for mining?

Im using 14.9 Catalyst with 1.33 oclHashcat.

Q2: What hashcat should i use for the best ati drivers 11.11 for those cards and will it be a better performance on older drivers with the older hashcat?

Q3: Why the restore is no longer working on the newest hashcat? No restore file is created and every time should start from beginning.

Q4; Which distributed solution is better the old VLC Clustering or the current agent-based distribution (made by a forum guy). I Have 1 rig with 6950 and 1 with 5870.

Hello. As I'm sure a few of you are aware, the cryptocoin mining game has pretty much come to an end. That said, I'm hesitant to turn around and sell a bunch of essentially free hardware. I'm involved in the infosec sphere already so I figured I should start learning about password cracking. Currently own a mixture of 7950s, 270s, and 270Xs. Setting up a distributed environment looks pretty easy if you just leverage hashtopus. Straight forward interface and deployment (props curlyboi).

All that said, I've trolled around the forums all morning have noticed several places where it's mentioned that CPU cracking can actually be more efficient than GPU for some hash types. Is it even worth have a large GPU cluster running on subpar CPUs and RAM? Rigs don't have any harddrives either, just USB2.0s with an Ubuntu distro. Would that end up being a large bottleneck?

I've also run through all the tutorials and it's become very apparent that rule tuning skill means tons more than hardware available. I can't seem to find any tutorials walking through the thought process of generating passwords from sets of known plaintexts. Any links or references in regards to that would be greatly appreciated.
