Multi GPU clustering

Hi Everyone,

I have a question about if it is possible to run a multi GPU cluster for hashcat.
I have cudahashcat working on kali.
The GPU's that I use are 2 nvidia GTX670.

I'm searching for about 2 days now but other then this article I can't find anything.
Is this article still valid? According to the article this only works on AMD GPU's. I have 1 R9 290 from AMD and a ATI firepro from a laptop that I can test it with but before I begin switching graphic cards and installing OS's I want to know if this article is still valid or mayby if there is another solution how to cluster multiple GPU's for password cracking.

I also found this article but this doesn't say anything about a multi GPU cluster.

Hashcat attack on skype

Hello everyone, I was looking this video on youtube: /watch?v=8fxLH-pokAI about how to do dictionary attack on a skype username with Hashcat.

In my cmd I wrote this:

C:\Users\**>cd C:\Users\**\Desktop\hashcat-0.47

C:\Users\**>cd C:\Users\**\Desktop\hashcat-0.47>hashcat-cli64.exe -m 23 --output-file=cracked2.txt --remove hash2.txt wordlists2/

but it gave this:

hashcat-cli64.exe: unknown option -- output-file=cracked2.txt


in my hash2.txt i wrote 3af0389f093b181ae26452015f4ae728:user


What could I do to make it work?

When I open the hashcat-cli32 exe (the only one that works at all so presumably the right one) it opens a command prompt style window however it is only open for a split second and then it closes.

please help!

OclHashcat 1.21 closes without any message

Hi,

I have recently installed latest 64bit version of OclHashcat 1.21; however, it is not working. Whenever I start hashcat it closes without any error message only posting:

"oclHashcat v1.21 starting...
Generating bitmap tables..."

And quits.

When I try to run benchmark it does the same except the output looks like:

"oclHashcat v1.21 starting in benchmark-mode..."

when I try using 32bit version it crashes with the following error:

"The exception unknown software exception (0x0000417) occurred in the application at location 0x530c55a4."

Can anybody help?

My spec:
AMD Radeon HD 7970 Ghz
Catalyst 14.4
Driver packaging ver 14.10.1006-140417a-171099C
OS: Windows 7 pro 64bits
I have removed completely driver and OpenCL dlls, reinstalled them and still nothing. Previous version of Hashcat was working perfectly fine with earlier catalyst version. After driver upgrade it stopped working so I have updated ocl hashcat to 1.21.

Noob hashcat command line issue

I watched some videos on Youtube and when I follow the arguments that they put in (besides the ones that change depending on what I am using) I get an error with --output-file=password.txt. It says unknown option -- output-file=password.txt. I have no idea if it is that I have a newer vision when the output file is not used or if i am using it wrong. I would love to have some help! Thanks!

nivida quadro k2000 hash slow hash speed

Greetings All,

I'm currently running cudaHashcat-1.21 on a computer with a nivida quadro k2000 card however I'm only receiving 8435 H/s. I was anticipating a much hight hash rate. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I may be doing wrong?

Here's what I'm entering to start the process:

C:\cudaHashcat-1.21>cudaHashcat64.exe -m 2500 -o cracked.txt 23510_1407792963.hccap wordlist

Hello everyone,

i am trying to recovery my password from a opensuse system.
i have copy /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow
then attempt the commande unshadown /etc/passwd /etc/shadow > password

and i am trying to find the plain text for the hash.

The problem is that my hash is Blowfish 32 and when i tried Cudahashcat, i only test 280h/s
i would like to know how to increase the speed or how to change Blowfish to md5 or another one

Salt max length ?

Hi there,

This is the first time that I'm using hashcat.
For now I'm just trying to understand the system with a simple example.
I'm using a 56-length salt which come from Prestashop ('_COOKIE_KEY_'). It seems to be the standard size of the salt in that system ( http://paikialog.wordpress.com/2010/11/0...ookie-key/ ).

This is what I took for my example :
Salt: 2NZwJaG2ShDGHbJSSG8Jn9XyJtFsqcAUhFUyv2aEvYavSw50mbNjXJY3
123456 without salt : e10adc3949ba59abbe56e057f20f883e
123456 with salt : 7e97f42df22c0555859942f9751b7ad9

So I'm trying to find back the original password (123456) with the method $salt.$pass
But my problem is that is seems that my salt is too big for hashcat. So how can I figure out this ? Do you know a way to unblock the max size ?

Code:
Initializing hashcat v0.47 by atom with 4 threads and 64mb segment-size...

Error ? New ? Hash ? Please help me if it is possible

Hi @all. So its been very long time maybe 7 years since i last try to crack a password.
Its been 1 week since i try to crack a Hash.
I am reading all more then 4 hours every day how to start up oclHashcat / Hashcat Gui.
I am trying to crack a hash 256.
My problem is, i set up the GUI oclHashcat, brute force and when i press on the button i get an error message that says "ERROR: clBuildProgram() -11"
I don´t have any idea from what i get it.
I set my input for Hash i set the SHA256 i set it to BruteForce ( just to see how long it would take! ( it is short pass ), i just don´t know for the Rules what to place. The pass haves Upper letters lower symbols and numbers. I set it to Retain 75º, devices all ( only one GPU R9 280X ), i set the output and format plane and when i press the big button it says that error ( clBuildProgram() -11 ).
Where is my error ? Can some one help me ?
I am reading really hard but no success i read all the WIKI for "oclHashcat" i watched all the youtube videos and no results Sad.

Back in 2008 i cracked some passwords it took me maybe 3 days to learn how i remember i cracked it with brute force it was simple numeric 20 letters or so ( not sure ).
Thank you a lot.
And please don´t tell me i am stupid i am really trying hard Sad.

I'm new oclHashcat, tried it on Debian 7 amd64 with fglrx 14.6 beta. Don't sure if i run correct but think speed for WPA is not so good for 2xR9 270

38 x GPU, need help seting up for hashcat

Hi Guys,

We have recently retired our 9 machine setup for mining, including 38 mixed GPU's, ATI 7950 and 280X's.

We have been playing with hashcat, but would like to try and get the distributed computing running so we can control all machines through proxy/webserver.

I have followed instructions from here

but when i get to the /localhost/admin.php section, i only get the php code and not the admin panel.

Any help/support that can be provided to get all these machines running, we happy let the person use all machines for for a period of time as a thankyou.

We are not experts in opencl or what tutorials are out there, the reason we are asking for help.

We are using cards as a trial to decide if we keep doing it or sell all items off before prices drop too far on the gpu's.

Need help setting Hashcat up

Hi

Im trying to set hashcat up but when I run it (App.HashcatGUI) I just get a cmd box pop up with the address to the App.HashcatGUI. And thats it, nothing happens. I'm going wrong somewhere but don't know where. All I can think of is my system is AMD.
Ive got my hashes in a txt doc also a a text doc named cracked that i've selected as the output. Ive added a load of wordlistas well
The settings I used are the same as this video:

My system is: AMD A10-6800 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 4.10Ghz

Hardware and performance

Hi everybody,

Trying to recover a previous password (MacOS 10.9), it takes currently more than 200 days.
I would like to know if you could advise me for a more performant hardware than my current HP laptop (unable to use cuda version unfortunatly : ERROR: cuModuleLoad() 209 with a Quadro 2000M).
This is the good time for me because my main workstation has burned few days ago and I have to renew the hardware (used for gaming too).

The command line used is : $ hashcat-cli64.bin -a 3 -m 7100 -1 "?l?u?d-_:;. %*+éàè " --pw-min=6 -o passwd.txt ./data/hashcat.hash ?1?1?1?1?1?1?1?1

The hash is the following :

I was wondering how to analyse a file 'test.txt' (containing passwords in plain text) to get results like: characters which occur most frequently and on which spot (character position distribution, character frequency distribution)?

Combinator attack

I use this command "combinator.exe wordlist1.txt wordlist2 txt | oclhashcat64.exe -m 0 -a 0 -r (some rule file) md5.file"

This works fine. Now i want to use 4 wordlists. Is it possible to save the output file off combinator.exe wordlist1.txt wordlist2.txt to my hdd?

html and conversations in rockyou

I'm probably late to this, but I was doing some analysis on the rockyou list from skullsecurity.org, and I noticed a lot of html and what looks like private conversations also included in the list. I'm assuming these are just artifacts from the data breach. I never bothered to look through the whole list in detail before so this is new to me.

Stuff like this:
