Need help with inputs

Hey,

So i've been trying to figure out how to configure hashcat to crack a SHA-256 pass with the length of 64.
I've tried a few variation of the increment and can't seem to get it to execute. I was wondering if somebody here could guide me through the correct steps to get it running.

For example:

The pass is something like this: 9414ea9572a96336fc75eaa61f6c24441a54705d867ac26dbdbb6b2a780d854b

Utilizing numbers, and only lowercase letters for each unit. I want to set the script to run for specifically 64 char, length and to only test for a-z, 0-9. I've had a few attempts but the script just stops abruptly without any error, or will give me some sort of invalid mask error. I'm clearly not doing something right, so your help will be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Benchmark vs Mask NTLM

Hi everyone,

I tried searching the forum for some guidance on the difference (if any) and could not come up with anything definitive.

Basically I'm trying to understand the significant difference I'm getting between the benchmark and a password mask for ?a?a?a?a?a?a?a?a

The benchmark suggests 60,837MH/s (66GH?/s) but when performing actual work it's only doing ~30,000 MH/s .  Is this inline with typical real world performance or is something seriously busted :/

Using 4.2.1

Benchmark:

I crack hashes email:hash
After breaking the hash I use the command -a 0 -m 100 --username  hash2.txt pas.txt --show -o formatted_output.txt --outfile-format 2 original_MD5_hashes.txt
To get the line email:password
But when there are many lines, for example, 1kk (1 000 000), then the command is executed for a very long time.
How can I accelerate the receipt of the file email:password?

I use AMD HD 6990 GPUs with hashcat 4.2
in some example of hashcat, some hashes does not crack. like rar5( mode 13000) winzip(13600).

but when i use hashcat 3.2 they have been cracked.

Android sd-card decryption

Hi everybody,

here's my problem:

My Galaxy S7 crashed. Unfortunately I had no possibilty to  decrypt the SD card before flashing the phone.
Now I see that the data is available on the SD card, but I can not open it.

Hence my question:

Is it possible to use Hashcat to decrypt the SD card?

Thank you very much for your response.

Greets,

Matthias

Is this an ok price?

$1000 CAD / $772 USD

2x 1070ti 8gb video cards
1x 1060 3gb card
EVGA 1000w power supply
G4400 processor
Motherboard supports 6 video cards
Comes with all gpu risers
Includes mining rig frame

In addition to that I would also be adding 2 of my 1080Ti's to the rig so I would need to get another PSU, what would be acceptable for that?

Also if this is an ok deal, how much ram do I need for the system? I'm not too sure how much is in it.

Also is that CPU sufficent for hashcat?

Just found out it has only 4GB of ram, lol

What is the storage requirement for OS to run hashcat?

I'm looking to test a rig with 4-6 GPUs and i'm wondering if i can use USB persistent Linux build as OS.

Does Hashcat use alot of IOs from the local OS?

Can i offset the storage data such as dictionary lists to an iSCSI/AoE server? Would that be a bottle neck due to the slower speed than a local SSD?

I'm also reading through a distributed setup called Hashtopus, i'm not clear about the storage for an agent also. Dont they get to share the same data from a SAN? or they each have a copy of the data to work on?

I'm sorry if these questions have been answered. I tried to use the search function on the forum with no success.

Mixed hardware questions - 1080Ti's and 2080

Greetings,

We currently have a password rig with two 1080 Ti's and we are looking to add 2 more GPU's.  We are trying to decide between the 2080's and 2080 Ti's.  We are currently leaning towards the 2080's but had some concerns about running different video cards especially since the 1080Ti's have 11 GB of ram and the 2080's have 8GB.

I know people run different hardware all the time but I'm curious if there is some sort of performance implication.

it seems GA-X58A-UD9 has 7 pcie(*16) ,which MB has more than 7?
ATI driver can only support 8 card in 1 system at most ?

Just wanted to say thanks to you guys (you know who you are) who are helping answering questions in this forum.

I couldn't do it alone while doing development at the same time. So thank you!

Hashcat doesn't find the plain hashes in a list.

PC: Ubuntu 18.04 bionic, Quadro K1000M

The test is done with this

Code:
#!/bin/bash

COMMON='asdf qwerty password 1234 12345 123456 Password 12345678 letmein football iloveyou'

for pass in $COMMON; do
echo "$pass" >> basic_dict
echo $pass | openssl dgst -sha256 | awk '{print $2}' >> hashes
done

Code:
./hashcat64.bin -m 1400 hashes basic_dict

Hi guys,

I need your help! I just bought a Msi rx580 armor 8g from Amazon
I'm on windows 10 64 bit, I installed the latest driver from amd website
When I run hashcat64.exe -b , the benchmark goes well until WPA, then it just stops
When I run hashcat64.exe -b -m 2500, nothing happens and hashcat just stops
I cannot crack WPA either
Any idea on how to fix that?

SLI GPU's to pair with GTX780

I have an ASUS GTX 780 Direct CU II; its a good card. Got it overclocked, can get around 90000 H/s on WPA/WPA2 benchmarks. Its been a good 5 years, wanted to pair this guy up with another GPU. Anyone know if there is a down-side to SLI when it comes to Hashcat? Or if there is a down-side to doing SLI with two different cards? I was contemplating getting the GTX 1080 TI-FE; would these two make an OK pair; should I only pair identical GPU's in SLI? Worth it?
Thanks!

Hi i am new to hashing i have setup a hash on virgin router wpa2 and hashcat has given me 7 days approx.

However my hashrate is stuck at 161.3 kh/s

Everywhere else i am seeing hashrates of upto 400 kh/s for a gtx1080 card.

Is there something i am missing.

Additional info: windows 10, temp is 69c fan: 60%. I have installed the registry patch and currently getting no errors.

buause I am a Chinese, so I can not understand something about set-up when using hashcat command line to crack wpa/wpa2 hash. may I ask some question?
1. if I have more than one worlist, how can i crack a wpa/wpa2 hash with more than one wordlists in one command line?

2. you know, some people use sellphone number as their wireless password, so the rule of Chinese sellphone number is 1+ab+cdef+xxxx. "ab" will be just 30 31 32 33 50 51 55 and cdef will relate to district, just the last four number xxxx are random number, so how can I creat rules to match it?

Cracking multiple WPA2 hashes?

Hello!

Would it be more efficient to crack multiple WPA2 hashes (different SSIDs) at the same time instead of running hashcat in a batch?
I found an older thread about it and according to that thread you could add multiple hccapx files using a comma delimiter and it worked back then - maybe it has been removed ever since? The comma delimiter does not work for me (in Windows environment).

I've tried searching around but not found any "fresh" information about this matter. Can someone shed a light?

Thanks!
