Overclocked GPU!

I'm generally getting a speed of 1300 MH/S on my GPU.So what is the speed I can except if I overclock my GPU?Will it go over 2000 MH/S?

Hi everyone,
I want to crack a password, where each placeholder could be one of a few specific chars. For example:
The cracked password has got a length of 5: 2A$Nm
the mask should look something like this:
1234,ABC,$%&(,NOP,mno,?1?2?3?4?5

the problem is, that hashcat can only handle 4 different custom charsets, but I need a new charset for every placeholder. How can I do this?

I'm totally helpless,so I need a help to this problem.There's a software called folder lock portable and it encrypts a bunch of files into a single-password protected file with an extension .flka,to open it,I need a password,which I have forgotten.So,is there any way,by which I can get the hash from this encrypted file?.I can crack the password if I  get the hash.So plz help,it's an urgent situation!

I am trying to crack a shadow hash that i pulled off the firmware to a wifipineapple.. no big secret as to what the default password for root actually is on this device, but i am just trying to learn.

so the hash from the shadow file is as such:

root:$1$DhqYuxhs$p/O7aro1npF4yvkRT7qJK.:16786:0:99999:7:::

my assumptions are that
1. root is the user
2. $1 indicates the hashtype - md5
3. $DhqYuxhs is the salt
4.  $p/O7aro1npF4yvkRT7qJK. is the actual password
5. i have no idea what the rest  is (maybe a time stamp?)

anyway, i have tried putting this through hash identifiers, and hashcat itself with -m as 0, 4010, 20 and clipping it every which possible way i could think of..

but hashcat always gives me errors like 'line length exception' or Hash-encoding exception saying no hashes loaded..

could someone help this young grasshopper learn?

Saludos estoy intentando usar Hashcat windows con una Gpu Amd radeon hd 6870 y me muestra esto y probado con 6 apretón de manos y nada el obtengo del wifixlax y después de la transportación en un usb a windows este error que me aparece

los programas estan actualizados los descarge desde la pagina oficial y la gui desde hashkiller

I have md5(md5($pass).$salt) to decrypt but salt is not 30 char is more or less them hascat giveme error lenght what mode is md5(md5($pass).$salt)  and not check length salt

Will this work? MaskProcessor with Hashcat

old box compatibility with Hashcat

Well,  I have searched a lot for this but no luck. I have an old box Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 processor 2.8 MHz with 40 GB disk space and a 512 MB memory able to be upgraded to 1 GB. I got Lubuntu installed and able to SSH it from my laptop.

Installed hashcat via apt-get but it doesn't work!

Any idea how to get it work on the CPU ? or are older versions be able to run smoothly with such specifications? I need it for testing purposes and to use it in cracking even if it is slower as it is better than non used at all.

cap2hccapx essid filters

Hi!

I am using cap2hccapx 1.8 to convert cap files created with besside-ng (not modified with any other tools).

According to documentation usage is as follows:

Quote:usage: ./cap2hccapx.bin input.pcap output.hccapx [filter by essid] [additional network essid:bssid]

I was wondering if [filter by essid] supports wildcards or anything similar to convert *only* essids matching with a pattern (eg. starting with "ProviderName")

I have been digging google and forums but could not get it to work. Do I need an external script and convert hashes individually for different networks?

The TrueCrypt documentation states that the location of a non-hidden header is the last 512 bytes of the first logical track of the system drive (Sector 62, 0x7C00).

Quote:Note: When you enter a pre-boot authentication password, the TrueCrypt Boot Loader first attempts to decrypt (using the entered password) the last 512 bytes of the first logical track of the system drive (where encrypted master key data for non-hidden encrypted system partitions/drives are normally stored). If it fails and if there is a partition behind the active partition, the TrueCrypt Boot Loader (even if there is actually no hidden volume on the drive) automatically tries to decrypt (using the same entered password again) the area of the first partition behind the active partition** where the encrypted header of a possible hidden volume might be stored. Note that TrueCrypt never knows if there is a hidden volume in advance (the hidden volume header cannot be identified, as it appears to consist entirely of random data). If the header is successfully decrypted (for information on how TrueCrypt determines that it was successfully decrypted, see the section Encryption Scheme), the information about the size of the hidden volume is retrieved from the decrypted header (which is still stored in RAM), and the hidden volume is mounted (its size also determines its offset). For further technical details, see the section Encryption Scheme in the chapter Technical Details.

For a hidden OS, TrueCrypt will attempt to decrypt the non-hidden header first, than it will try to decrypt the area of the first partition behind the active partition. Where exactly is the location of the 512 bytes that can be used by Hashcat to decrypt the hidden header?

Does hashcat not actually use CUDA for Nvidia cards now? I'm puzzled over the fact that there's no .cu files on github but there are many .cl files for OpenCL. I keep thinking back to (now outdated) cudaHashcat vs oclHashcat and find myself quite confused over this.

I'm doing a research project for school where I'm making a CUDA md5 cracker, and while programming my own md5 implementation in CUDA, I was thinking of using hashcat's CUDA md5 for good measure to compare against mine/to have a well-implemented version since mine is bound to not be ideal.

Now that I actually look, however, this doesn't seem to be the case. I've already committed to using CUDA specifically for my project so I don't want to just switch to OpenCL. Secondly, I thought OpenCL was noticeably slower on Nvidia cards compared to CUDA due to Nvidia's snail-pace at supporting it? Hasn't it still not gotten OpenCL 2.0 support yet?

So the other day I attempted to upgrade my AMD drivers to a 17.X package. It failed and I removed everything associated with it I could, reinstalled 14.x drivers. Now in session I notice the HWMon says 0%  from dev1 and it skips cpu when initiated. 
How do I accomplish even 50% Util?
My 4 wordlists  are 10M +
my rule is 5,000.
So there should plenty of work even running 400k Hashes right? What am I missing? Please

But when I enter that into hashcat it gives me the following error:

I tried making a 7z file with a known password, and I also got a similar short hash that wouldn't work. Any suggestion on what I might be doing wrong? I really did look for an answer before coming here, but I wasn't able to find anything.
