Don't detect any device - clGetDeviceIDs(): CL_DEVICE_NOT_FOUND

Hi all, well yesterday i update from a ver very low version of hashcat to the actual git version (compiled in the actual machine), but sadly don't works, when i try i get this message:

hashcat (v3.30-327-g96370d0c+) starting...

clGetDeviceIDs(): CL_DEVICE_NOT_FOUND

No devices found/left

I try it with benchmark or listing the devices, with optirun and without it, and as admin and normal user, but i get this error in all that cases.

My comp has an i7 and a gpu geforce 740m, i'm using the nvidia official drivers.

I'm using Gentoo 64 as OS, it have all deps and dev libs of the programs so i don't think can be there the problem.

As optirun works fine i don't think is a nvidia module problem.

Thx.

Anyone vetted Gray Matters cases / risers?

Stumbled upon these awhile back while they were still in rev1. With v3 out, thought I would toss this out there and see if anyone has vetted these? More specifically - vetted the quality of the risers? I typically try to avoid risers but given the pricepoint of the case, it could be appealing for budgetary purposes.

keyspace changes

Hi all,

Has there been any change to "--keyspace" in the latest stable (3.30)?

The exact same command which works on 3.00 does not work in 3.30:
Code:
$ hashcat-3.00/hashcat64.bin --keyspace -m 0 -a 3 hashcat-3.00/example0.hash ?a?a?a?a?a
81450625
$ hashcat-3.30/hashcat64.bin --keyspace -m 0 -a 3 hashcat-3.00/example0.hash ?a?a?a?a?a
Usage: hashcat-3.30/hashcat64.bin [options]... hash|hashfile|hccapfile [dictionary|mask|directory]...

Try --help for more help.

If this is not a bug, what is the new proper way to use the keyspace command?

Cheers.

--restore with the change of workload profile?

I tried to search around but couldn't find the answer

Is there a way to restore a session with change of work profile or gpu fan speed?

I attempted
Code:
hashcat64 --session=test -w 3
or
Code:
hashcat64 --session=test --gpu-temp-retain 1
but did not seem to have any effect.

Thanks

Smarter way to do a combinator attack with different rules for -j/-k?

$

I want to try a combinator attack where I combine two dictionaries with a '@' between the words in the dictionaries and add four digits to the end of the combined words, e.g. if

dict1
Code:
cat
dog
car

dict2:
Code:
coke
sprite
fanta

I want the output to be (YYYY for some year):
Code:
cat@cokeYYYY
cat@spriteYYYY
.
.
car@fantaYYYY

I've tried using -a 1 with -j/-k to add '@' and 'YYYY', but seems like this only works if -j/-k adds the same amount of characters (e.g. as in the example at https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=combinator_attack) - unless I'm doing it completely wrong of course.

I could append '@' to all the words in dict1 and then combine the modified dict1 with dict2 using combinator before running the rule attack, but before I do that I wonder if there's an easier way? Doing it this way could lead to a quite large combined dictionary that'd take up quite some disk space if dict1 and dict2 both contain a decent amount of words.

Process in HashCat $mskrb5$

There hash intercepted via Intercepter-ng:
Code:
Kerberos Auth 10:44:53/24/02/17 192.168.5.194/192.168.1.101:88 BRUTE WITH JTR rc4-hmac DOMAIN.COM\tester:$mskrb5$$$A643483079D9E3CC6F14D3C1CB6CCC4E$601841F258521CD7A97A0032DC61E1050EC45FFFAF14A68851C91C4B925036C1864525DE
John Ripper with it normally works.
How to process it in HashCat?
If the format string as:

Code:
$krb5pa$23$tester$DOMAIN.COM$salt$A643483079D9E3CC6F14D3C1CB6CCC4E$601841F258521CD7A97A0032DC61E1050EC45FFFAF14A68851C91C4B925036C1864525DE

it is necessary to remove the symbol                              ^

and password, which I know is not suitable (((

Greetings - I posted this announcement on IRC earlier, so if you read that you can skip this post.

I've coded up yet another combinator for generating passwords.  Here is the announcement:

This is the ANNOUNCE.txt file for comboleetor.pl - a password
generator that uses known blocks, numbers, punctuation and
    leetspeak in any combination.

Run perl comboleetor.pl -h  for short help and,
perl comboleetor.pl -H  for longer help with examples.

    Requires GetOpt::Std

    Released under BSD 2-clause license.

    Available at:  http://www.jimby.name:81/comboleetor/

Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

When using brute force attack you get 0001, 0002, 0003, 0004, 0005 and so on, is it possible to use brute force attack and get random sets like 1092, 9482, 1783, 9483, 2893?

GPU Not Found [help]

Hello all,

Looking to get some assistance with some hardware issues I'm having.

I was using hashcat 2.x with my GTX 750Ti on and old (ancient) Dell running xubuntu 15.10. Hashcat worked fine.

Recently I thought it would be a good idea to upgrade the OS to Arch & upgrade hashcat to 3.x. I was unable to get the Arch distro to *see* my GPU. I install opencl-nvidia and tried both "nvidia-dkms" and "nvidia" from the arch repos

I tried:

lspci -k | grep -A 2 -E "(VGA|3D)"

But not nvidia related output.

lsmod | grep nvidia

But no output.

sudo modprobe nvidia

But no output.

dmesg | grep -i nvidia

No output.

In frustration, I went back to xubuntu, 16.04.01. I installed opencl-nvidia and opencl-headers. Still, I can't get my OS/motherboard to *see* the GPU. The GPU is properly seated into the motherboard and the green light and fans start spinning when I boot.

Can anyone help? I'm completely frustrated and out of ideas at this point. If you need more info, please just ask.

CPU vs GPU

Which is better? CPU or GPU?

I've tried using both and the CPU seems faster, but when i run hashcat it only uses 1/4 of the maximum power (1024mb out of 4048mb).

Is there a way that I can allocate more memory to hash cat and could I allocate more GPU memory to hash cat?

If it helps I'm using a 2015 macbook air. I would use my desktop which has more CPU power but I don't know how to allocate more power so I'm just using my macbook air.

Itunes Backup recovery strategy

I am trying to avoid paying to unlock my wife's iPad backup. I have a new device for her and want to migrate to it with a few lost items as possible.
On her MAC she did not tell it to keep the encryption password in Keychain and on my Windows PC the password is not recoverable.

I found my way here and using the pl script I was able to get the $itunes_backup$*9*wkpy*iter*salt** - (partial shown: $itunes_backup$*9*a8c7351ffc551...) and I have passed that to hashcat as itunes9.txt
Code:
hashcat64 -m 14700 --weak-hash-threshold 0 itunes9.txt

Hashcat seems to be running:
Code:
Session..........: hashcat
Status...........: Running
Hash.Type........: iTunes Backup < 10.0
Hash.Target......: $itunes_backup$*9*a8c7351ffc551...
Time.Started.....: Sun Feb 26 16:02:51 2017 (12 mins, 16 secs)
Time.Estimated...: Sun Feb 26 16:15:07 2017 (0 secs)
Input.Base.......: Pipe
Speed.Dev.#1.....:        0 H/s (0.00ms)
Recovered........: 0/1 (0.00%) Digests, 0/1 (0.00%) Salts
Progress.........: 0
Rejected.........: 0
Restore.Point....: 0
Candidates.#1....: [Copying]
HWMon.Dev.#1.....: Temp: 43c Fan: 40%

But I d not know enough to know if this output is normal/std.  I tried a password file of ones we would have used (Windows, Mac, Pin, iTunes, etc) but that ran about five seconds and ended so I presume none of those we valid.  Having already tried them I doubted they would.

Any help/thoughts?

Thanks

Hello everybody.
I' m testing on OS X Sierra with Hashcat v3.30-377-ga509221.

I've created a personal dictionary of 8 lines with my password. Then i've converted my password to bcrypto hash online and I've created a file with it.

In my terminal I've typed:

hashcat -m 3200 hash diczi -o risu.txt

and also tried:

hashcat -a 0 -m 3200 hash diczi-o risu.txt

The result is:

Status...........: Exhausted

and no password was found.
I also tried with SHA1 without problem.

What am I doing wrong?
Thank you

Any huge rulesets?

I can plow through the rockyou.txt wordlist plus a ruleset I found on here which is apparently a variation on the Dive ruleset, in about 20 minutes which is great because it's quick, but I've got the time spare to use a much more thorough ruleset. Any suggestions of rulesets that are really thorough?
