Hi guys,

I´m trying to get a Hash from an encrypted PDF document and I´m trying to use the recommended (hashcat wiki) tool: pdf2hashcat.py

It worked for some files before but now I have one pdf document where I get this error message:

Code:
content.pdf : Can't find trailer

Hmm ... any idea what could have caused this message and how I can resolve this?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hey guys, need some help Sad I have a file with item:hash. I cracked some hashes now I wanted to combine them. So I use the command ./hashcat-cli64.bin -m 0 --show --username hash.txt --outfile-format 2 -o done.txt but it freezes and stay frozen... I left it running overnight and such and it really didn't do anything.
They are big files, the hash list is around 150mb and my pot file is around 190mb.
I am really running out of options Sad

GeForce 960

I am having an issues with the newest distro of hahscat and a HTPC that is currently running a GeForce 960.

When running my attack I get the following error:

ERROR: cuModuleLoad() 301

When seeing other threads in the fourms I see that it could be related to the cuda version. However both a older 660 Ti and this GTX 960 run the same verion (3.0) as per docs at: https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus

Any suggestions from the pros?

Hi,

I use a C program that build password guesses based on the following rule:

Code:
email:pw:username:SOME_VERY_LONG_CONSTANT

Here an invented example:
user0@example.org:123456:user0:aSDJv934upvjsdpu24r8gu3490503475345jklvsdhshdklfhjsdilfjsldflsdfklsdfkljsdlkfklsdjfklsdjfksdjfklsdjfjklsdhfjsdhfsdfsdfsdsad234tb
user1@provider.org:123456:user1:aSDJv934upvjsdpu24r8gu3490503475345jklvsdhshdklfhjsdilfjsldflsdfklsdfkljsdlkfklsdjfklsdjfksdjfklsdjfjklsdhfjsdhfsdfsdfsdsad234tb
user2@another.:123456:user2:aSDJv934upvjsdpu24r8gu3490503475345jklvsdhshdklfhjsdilfjsldflsdfklsdfkljsdlkfklsdjfklsdjfksdjfklsdjfjklsdhfjsdhfsdfsdfsdsad234tb

In the moment I pipe those generated password candidates to oclHashCat in stdin mode, most of them will be rejected because the candidates are too long.

Code:
cat dictionary.dict | ./myCprogram | ./oclHashCat64.bin somehashes.md5

What can I do about it?

Currently considering a Tyan FT77AB7059, but I'm curious if I would need to populate both sockets, or if it would just address fewer lanes per card when using a single CPU. Anyone care to help me out?

HashCat GPU

Good day. I really want to get information about the program HESHKAT. According to its functionality. The articles on the Internet, I found information about the program breaks hash passwords. And there is the realization of this process due to rusursov card. Could you give information about starting with some series graphics cards support ATI goes hacking ??. Especially interested in whether there is support for ATI graphics cards ATI SM 2400 and SM 3650? I know that in the mining, data card. The Mining even used a little earlier versions (Mining essentially the same password cracking on hash). I would like to remove the review of video cards even in 2007 and earlier years may outperform over passwords in hash of some modern 4 and maybe even 6-core processors. I ask you to give information about the support of some older graphics cards and links to jump software. I make the review posted on the website. Dame links to your site. I apologize in advance for the concern and thank you! The answer is possible contact me at -- KaTugabacaka@gmail.com

oclHashcat on a Mac

I've run Hashcat on a Mac with Kali Linux. The only references I've found to running oclHashcat on a Mac refer to running it with/through Ubuntu and the Catalyst 14.9 installation.

What I'm hoping to do is install a Nvidia GTX 970 reference card in the Mac and run oclHashcat off of a DVD disk like I am with the Kali Linux disk.

Can anyone share any insights? Thanks.

7z salt

I'm going to first mention that I'm completely new here (under a week of experience) so I'd like to apologise for anything that is either blatantly obvious or could be dug up pretty quickly.

So I'm trying to crack this 7z hash I have however Hashcat tells me it has been salted. I have also done a test with a known 7z hash (apparently it is also salted) but to no avail. I have done some digging around to see if there's any way to handle salted 7z hashes but there's nothing much about cracking these, just stuff confirming that they have indeed been salted since a certain version.

What I'm asking is this: Does Hashcat's 7z cracking remove its salt aswell and if so, how? I have not seen anything mentioning 7z cracking with salt anywhere.

No experience, how can I use this on windows to decrypt photos?

I have photos encrypted by android on a MicroSD card.
I really need to decrypt these as there is evidence on this card that I really need to get back.
Android was 4.x.x with the encrypted card, it updated to 5.0.1 and bricked itself causing a factory reset, it was never rooted.

Anyways, I have the photos on windows, I made a copy of the encrypted files, and I need to decrypt and unlock these photos as soon as possible.
If anyone can direct me how to use this program to unlock the files, I would appreciate it.

Even if it requires the use of another program. I have a gaming PC with the high end video card and CPU, with 32 GB ram, I hope thats enough!

I do know the 4 digit pin used if that even helps. it was an LGG3.

v 0.49 increment min equivalent

For the moment, I'm stuck with v.49 and can't use the --increment option. I wish to force Hashcat to start at a minimum of 8 character passkey, and not work it's way up from a 1 character ->8 character passkey. Is there an equivalent option to do this? Thanks.

oclHashcat on MacBook Pro

I thought I'd try to see if I could run oclHashcat from Terminal on my MacBook Pro. It has an NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M and I was wondering if it would work. I installed CUDA, downloaded Hashcat but only got these error messages:

Rons-MBP:~ rl$ /Users/rl/Desktop/cudaHashcat-1.37/cudaHashcat64.bin --help
-bash: /Users/rl/Desktop/cudaHashcat-1.37/cudaHashcat64.bin: cannot execute binary file
Rons-MBP:~ rl$ /Users/rl/Desktop/cudaHashcat-1.37/cudaHashcat32.exe --help
-bash: /Users/rl/Desktop/cudaHashcat-1.37/cudaHashcat32.exe: Permission denied

Can anyone shed some light? Thanks.

extra chars and mask files

Given this set-up to include some extra German characters:

./oclHashcat64.bin -m 7900 -1 äöüß?l -2 ÜÄÖ?u -3 €?s -a 3 --increment hashes.txt rockyou-7-2592000-copy.hcmask

I could simply use one of the rockyou mask files by making a copy and doing a simple find & replace to switch out:
1 for l
2 for u
3 for s

Correct ?

oclHashcat on Ubuntu Server - Persistent hanging

I've followed this guide to the letter, but oclHashcat still won't work on my server.

It appears that oclHashcat starts, but I don't get any feedback from the program. I can check the status of my graphics card in another terminal and the temperatures are remaining low, suggesting that they're not being worked.

When I try to run a benchmark:

Quote:user@server:~/oclHashcat-1.37$ sudo ./oclHashcat64.bin -b

oclHashcat v1.37 starting in benchmark-mode...

And it remains like this for an hour before I terminate it.

Quote:user@server:~/oclHashcat-1.37$ sudo ./oclHashcat64.bin hashcat.hccap example.dict -m 2500
oclHashcat v1.37 starting...

Generating bitmap tables with 16 bits...

Same with that one.

Its worth noting that my computer doesn't crash or anything, I just kill the task and everything else works fine.

Happy to post logs for anyone who wants to help.

Hi all,

Probably allready asked, but didn't find it searching the forum.

What code should I use to "only" write (print) down the founds allready in the potfile when working on a new hashlist in hashcat and oclhashcat.

thank you

Hi Everyone.    I'm just getting back to using oclHascat after a long time away.

I've installed it on Ubuntu Server as per the wiki and it's all up and running with the latest V1.37 release

I have a few R9 290's but I'm still getting it setup so have been testing with just one. Question is when I run the benchmark WPA is showing me 165K.

I've got a capture from my own network and run 'oclHashcat64.bin -a 3 -m 2500 /media/usb/Vm.hccap ?l?l?l?l?l?l?l?"

The hashes per second are only averaging 78K.

Am I missing something as in the past I used to get higher than this with 5870's?

Nvidia Quadro VS Titan X for GPU Hash cracking

Hello Members,

I was wondering if anyone benchmarked or tested one or any of the following Nvidia cards with hashcat

Nvidia Quadro K4200 4GB GDDR5 GPU
Nvidia Quadro K5200 8GB GDDR5 GPU

If so, can you share the benchmark data for the following hash types?

Hashtype: MD4
Workload: 1024 loops, 256 accel

Hashtype: WPA/WPA2
Workload: 1024 loops, 32 accel

Also any advice if I should go for one of the cards listed above or am I better off buying 2 Titan X cards (since they cost roughly half of what the K4200 does) would be appreciated.

I am planning on building a powerful Password Cracking server and here are the specs so far:

Chassis: SYSE7047GRETRF

Motherboard: X9DRG-QF

Processor: Intel Xeon E5E2620 Processor (2.0GHz/ 6C/ 15MB)

Memory:
Crucial 16GB PC3E12800 1600MHz RDIMM Registered Server Memory

Storage: Seagate 4TB 7.2K 3.5” SATA Enterprise Drive

GPU: Nvidia Quadro K4200 4GB GDDR5 GPU

OR

GPU: Nvidia Quadro K5200 8GB GDDR5 GPU

I think I am good with the specs, my biggest concern (as with any GPU hash cracking server) is the GPU configurations.

Thanks

Problem with PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA1

Hi,

I am experimenting with some PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA1 hashes, but I can't seem to get oclHashcat to work.

I am trying the example hash:
sha1:1000:MzU4NTA4MzIzNzA1MDQ=:19ofiY+ahBXhvkDsp0j2ww==

with a dictionary just containing "hashcat" but it can't crack it.

Can anyone reproduce a successful match with this hash mode?
