I have a hashfile that is 40 mb large it contains usernames and SHA512 hashes. (FYI: I've tried with just the hashes, making the file smaller in size).
When running oclHashcat with mode 1700 on a large number of rows, I get either no results or only one or two. Scaling the rows down to about 10k rows, using the same mode/syntax, gives me significantly more results ( strangely little though, about 10%).
This is not an issue of performance, since I've tried with a wordlist containing passwords I know for a fact is a part of the "hashspace". oclHashcat runs and exhausts itself on the wordlist but finds more cleartexts if I select fewer rows.
Any ideas?
