dictionary cache slow at building hashcat

Hello there,
Can someone please explain why it take a long time to build dictionary cache. Weakpasses takes about 10mins or just stops?  Pc is I7 8th gen 16gig memory Nvidia 1080 strix card and ssd. Cheers Kev
